Hey everyone, I'm a smoker who is looking to make the switch. Before looking on this fourm i ordered a disposable version to see if I liked it. its already shipped. Looking back I likely would have been better off saving the 14.95 for e-juice. I'm pretty sure I'm going to love e-cigs. I've only smoked for a year and grown up like smokers. I love nicotine, I love smoking. But I don't want to end up like my father, 62 and on Oxygen from smoking so heavily

the fourm has been a HUGE Help to me. I'm thinking the 510 is the best option as a newbie. I do have a somewhat limited budget. I'm hoping to not go over 75-100 for starters at least. I wouldn't even mind getting a used one if I could properly clean it ect. no idea where to look for that.

Where should I start? I'm so confused company wise. A good friend of mine is also a smoker, very heavy at that. We are going to test out the disposal ones. If he likes it maybe we could combo the order and do one of the china companies?

Any suggestions would be great, right now I believe I need to buy the basic kit and the charger, and maybe some filling stuff from wal-mart. anything else I should get?

Matt

Hi Matta, good for you for giving up the coffinstix! The 510 is what got me off the cigs as a almost 40 year smoker. I'm now a Vapor4Life customer and couldn't be happier. It all depends on how you decide to vape, the 510 is great if you don't mind dripping, but I like the ease of cartomisers, so I went with the VK.
Good luck to you!

I had a great experience with cignot.com. I got their 510 starter kit for $35 and two 3 mL bottles of e-juice at $3 each. Add $5 for shipping and I've got two sets for $46. The kit also comes with 5 cartridges.

I don't use the cartridges. I just drip which means adding 2 drops of juice directly to the atomizer. This set-up has worked nicely so far and should last for a while.

Others have also had great experiences with that company and their service. Good luck on whatever you decide and welcome!

(I ordered a kit from China BEFORE the cignot one and it still hasn't arrived.)

Just had a duh moment, I really don't like the idea of dripping myself... I feel like I'm still too much of a newbie. But I think I'd prefer a manual e-cig, or maybe a auto would work too. My worry with automatic is the room it would be stored in will have a lot of movement because of a pet that has pretty much claimed my room. I've also heard you can get bigger hits with manuel. So confused lol

Dripping with a manual 510 is, IMO, easier than fiddling with carts.
You dont have to mess with any filler material (polyfil, pyramid tea bags, fluval, etc), you dont have to worry that you have put too much juice in (flooding the atomizer), or worry about too little (burnt plastic taste).
Just 2-3 drops straight in the atomizers mesh bridge and vape away. After 8-10 hits just re-drip.
Its so simple a caveman can do it.

Welcome aboard Matta. Don't throw out the e-juice, put it in the fridge, it's good for at least a year. You will probably be refilling your own carts in no time. You won't need to buy the filler material and if you do, be careful what you buy, some of them have fire resistant chemicals added, you don't want to be inhaling that! Blank carts that you buy, have the filling already in them, unlike the carts that come with the atomizers.

The 510 is a good choice for anyone, it has good vapor and a good hit, but it is a juice and energy hog, so if you want to save money, prepare to refill the carts yourself.

If you are looking for a good company to deal with, check the dealers here on ECF. I have bought from several of them, with no problems.

Also, check the Tips and Tricks section here on ECF. You will get a lot of information and ideas there.

I use a Joye 510 and I also have a disposable, also known as a cartomizer, or KR808D-1, I like them both.

I have been using my Joye510 from cignot.com for two days now, pretty heavy...and I got one auto and one manual...love the manual and the auto is okay for when I am driving.

I bought the big kit from them for only $65 and it came with the charging case (charge on the go cause the battery's don't last too long) and it was worth every penny!

I would also suggest cignot.com starter kit with PCC $65.00 and free shipping also very quick delivery. Good luck and welcome to the club:thumb::D

Exact same thing I'm using, too! Stay away from the MLB HIG pre-filled carts though. Find a juice you like and fill your own. It's pretty easy and the 510 seems to be made for DIY juice.

Thanks everyone, I think I'm going to go with the cignot no box joy for $35.00 and add on 5ml fluid. that should be a good starter, for only 40 bucks. then I'll study fluids from other places.

maybe I'm confused on dripping, I thought it was real easy to flooding the atomizer with dripping. I think the 510 is a good starter. My disposal (no way to recharge or or anything at all) shipped today so I expect to get it sometime next week.

thanks again, everything seems so much easier! :):thumb:

Dripping is pretty easy on the 510...2 drops and you are good for 7 to 10 pulls...then drip a couple more drops...

There are also so great mods for the 510 to get more fluid in the cart for when you can't drip (driving)...and they are pretty simple to do...most likely with stuff you have around the house.

good choice with the 510. Like I said, I love mine...and just ordered 3 more batts and atties from cignot...

Skip the beginners PV and get a Janty Stick. The batteries are cheap so the cost in the long run will be better than buying 510 parts. I like my 510 but I love my Janty Stick. Big Vapor! And just yesterday I discovered the perfect filler for the cart. (Link below)

FILLER (blue foam from pet store aquarium dept)
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-foam-plug-updated-v2-0-slug-search-over.html

Look for recipes here in the DIY section to make your own juice, it's soooo cheap. The Janty Stick uses the 801 atomizer so the cart is larger and can hold a lot of juice. With the filler (above) you can vape for a long time without topping off. Good luck! :)
