Hey all, greetings!

I've bought two genuine Vision Spinner 2 1600mah batteries and a Protank Mini 2 and Protank Mini 3. I've been really satisfied with my purchase and the batteries are excellent, last really long. But I'm having trouble with my clearomizers, more specifically with the replacement coils.

I bought these coils at fasttech. I'm not allowed to post links, it's fasttech url followed with /p/1476404
It says Authentic Protank Clearomizer Coil Heads (5-Pack) 1.8 Ohm and I'm not really satisfied with how they perfrom.

It's like this, I run the PT2 at 4.3V on my Spinner and get a lot of vapor but sort of a burnt taste. If I lower the voltage I get a better taste but the vapor is really low, I'm having trouble getting a moutfull, LOL.

The PT3 runs much better. It's on 3.8V and the vapor is sufficient but with little taste.

To sum it up, I enjoyed the tanks much better with the coils that came with them.

Have I got the wrong replacement coils? Can anyone recommend me what coils to buy for my two tanks and what voltage to use with them on the Spinner batteries?

Could you perhaps recommend me a site from where I can buy quality coils? The ones I can buy locally are like 5$ for one and they're all from fasttech so I really don't have other options.

Also should I go for higher resistance coils for the Spinner batteries?

Have you considered rebuilding your old coils? See below:

If you want better performance out of your Kanger coils I suggest you periodically clean AND dry burn them. When they finally don't work well or at all, save them. At some point you may want to consider learning to rebuild them.

These two things are exactly what I would expect. (??)

However, I am worried that they say "authentic" but not "Kanger". Could be something, could be nothing.....

Wow, this forum is popular. Less than a day and my thread already went to the sixth page. :)

Thanks for the welcome and the tips for respected sites. I'll browse through them and see which one is most economic with prices and shipping rates to Europe.

One more thing; what resistance coils should I go for? Like I said, I'm currently on 1.8 coils, should I go for 2.2 or 2.5? What difference does it make?

OK, first, you must remember that your ProTank 2 comes with a single coil and really can't take more than 7 watts without struggling. Kanger recommends 5-7.5W (per coil).

ProTank 3 (and all Aerotanks, Evod glass, T3D etc) are dual coil atties.

Maybe this will help:

Welcome to the forum!

I'm running the same single coils on both tanks, the single coil is compatible with the PT3.

Thanks for the link, that chart seems very helpful. In a nutshell, with the coils I have(1.8 ohm) I really should not go over 3.8V on my Spinner 2, otherwise I'm in the red with regards to your chart. So since I'm having very little vapor with my PT2 on 3.8V but burnt taste on anything higher, I should go with higher resistance coils, so I can crank up the voltage on the Spinner. I'm gonna experiment with 2.2 and 2.5 ohm coils and see how it goes. Thanks!

Hey, I just built my third coil(first two didn't work). I used Kanthal 30 gauge and wrapped it tight around a tooth pick 6 times. Does anyone know should I go with more or less wraps? More wraps equals higher resistance, right? Anyone know a sweet spot with the 30 gauge?
