Newbie! Waiting on my Titan 510 (and all the other goodies I ordered!)

Hi all! Ok so I am REALLY new to this, both the vaporizing and the forum type stuff. So here it goes. I'm a 28 year old Army wife and Mother of 3 really incredible children. I've smoked analogs (marlboro menthols) 1-2packs a day for 12 years. A friend of mine called me earlier this week and told me how she had switched to an electronic cigarette called blu, this was interesting to me since I know her and her husband are avid smokers (maybe more so then me if thats possible! lol) That is really all it took to get me interested. I did some research and decided I liked the titan 510 better then the brand she had gone with. So here I am, I placed my order online today. I got the 510 starter kit, some extra empty cartridges, 3 different juice flavors (18mg), and the computer pass-thru since I tend to smoke more while I'm in my garage on my laptop anyhow. I do plan on getting the PCC in the coming weeks, I've heard the battery on the 510 doesn't last long? (please feel free to give feedback about that) Also if there is something I need to order that I didn't. I love that I now have the option to enjoy smoking without poisoning myself and my family! One question though, I do have 3 small kids (8 yrs, 4yrs, and 2yrs) I NEVER smoke analog cigs around them, am I now safe to move inside out of my chilly garage and use my e-cig indoors without causing my kids to be harmed by what I'm exhaling? Thanks for reading and any feedback I could get would be great!
I can't wait till my 510 arrives so I can throw out these nasty marlboros! Cross your fingers for me that their quick! lol

Welcome sehkmets. Good choice going with the 510 over the Blu. Hopefully the 510 kit comes with a couple of batteries. I think the average vaper/smoker can get about 1 and 1/2 to two hours of use before recharging is necessay. Well, you smoke 1-2 packs a day, so that should be pretty close.

An Ego battery or Riva Battery will last you 6-8 hours. Should work with your 510 stuff whenever you get a chance to upgrade to the larger batts. But you will need a new charger for the larger batteries.

Hi Thalia, welcome to ECF!

You made a good choice with a 510. Your right about the batteries not lasting to long. Your options are to have a few on hand and get a PCC or just go for the ego type batteries. The ego is a 510 device so you wont have to buy anything new for them to work. The ego batts. last me 24 hours each give or take, I've read that some can go through 3 of them a day but that would mean they vape non stop. Even then 3 a day is much better than needing a new one every few hours.

As for the "second hand vape" there are no real studies done on this that I know of but most of the evidence would show that its safe. The best example of this I saw was the reaction a cat has to getting the vapor blown in his face. With any cig he would run away from you/it right away but with vapor they really dont react. For me this is a pretty good sign that its not toxic or irritating in any way. IMO you dont really want your kids to see you doing this anyways because even if its healthier than smoking, its still bad for you. I wouldnt hesitate to vape indoors if I were you, I do it and have kids and cats (thats how I know cats dont mind the vapor )

Welcome sehkmets! and congrats on your decision ecigs are wonderful, I've been analog free for over 7 months now! and I smoked 'em for over 30 years :/
and good decision on the 510 over the Blu! I started with the 510 and it did the job just fine... I have since moved to an eGo, basically the same thing but with bigger batteries I tired of swapping out batts all the time the nice thing is that they use the same atties as the 510
And I too used to sit in the garage and smoke, and yes... I have since moved indoors MUCH more comfortable and I have no reservations about vaping around the family... its actually a nice change to hear them ask "what are you vaping? it smells wonderful" LMAO you never heard that with cigarettes!!

I'm really excited to know that my research paid off and I picked a good model! I'm definitely going to look into that Ego battery idea too, sounds ideal!
Only one hurdle left... get my hubby switched over with me! I can only imagine what kissing him will taste like after I'm puffing on cherry vapor and I kiss him while he's still smoking analogs! Again any suggestions are welcomed, but i do have a bit of faith that the product will sell itself when he tries mine (remind me why I bought the pink one again? haha.) I hope that doesn't totally turn him off. After all he can still go order a black or platinum one so he isn't completely stripped of his manhood in public places!

I have not managed to convert my SO of 16 years yet. He's open to the idea but hasn't pulled the trigger on his own set up yet. We don't live together so we can't share often. Hate to tell ya, but the kissing is yucky now. I haven't said anything. I am going through the coughing up stuff stage (sorry TMI) so he thinks I have a cold so kissing is out any way but if you like to kiss your hubby, convert him fast.
