Hi everyone,

I'm new here, this week. I had my last analogue on 13 May, 2013.

I'd like some advice on my first serious rig. I want to be able to drip. From what I understand, dripping is for frequent refilling and superior taste. Also, I believe it's good for sampling different juices; at a shop, for example.

Also, I want to be able to use standard 510 cartomizers, as well as just filling a tank.

What do you think of these two as the entirety of my rig?

ProVape-1 Base Kit V2.1 - ProVape Electronic Cigarette Battery Mod
Avid Vaper's AMP tank 5 ml w/ 2.0ohm CS bridgeless 510 atomizer - AMP Tank - Avid Vaper

I understand I'll need to buy a drip tip. Is this everything, or will I need more to be able to vape all 3 ways?

1. Drip
2. Carto
3. Tank
I don't like the wicks, they taste funny; though I suppose that could be from quitting recently.

Thank you. :vapor:

For starting out trying direct dripping and sampling (something you're going to be doing a lot of) ... there is nothing better than a variable volt batt with a joye 510 atomizer and a delrin drip tip.

The Joye 510 atomizer has more metal mesh on the bridge and around the base of the bridge for holding ejuice. Some 510 atomizers have a 'washer-like' base and you can get dry hits easily with those. And because of the mesh, you'll get a few more drops in the Joye atty. Get the standard 2.0 - 2.2Ω Joye 510 atty - you can adjust for flavor with the variable volt battery.

Delrin is tasteless and more immune to heat than metal or glass for a drip tip. ymmv on some of these.

The best start on a variable volt battery is the Joye eGo-c Twist - it has the best short and charge protection for proprietary batteries, or the Vision Spinner - a well built and easier to read VV batt.

I'll go with what Katya suggested in the other thread:

http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm

You could get one of each on the batts or I'd recommend getting one 650mAh Joye eGo-c Twist and one 900mAh Joye eGo-c Twist, just to see the difference in lengths and lengths of charge. The 1000mah - very popular - is even longer than the 900mAh but only 1 hour more than the 900.

I'd also recommend the Kanger T3 as the choices for the clearos. Although the ones that come with the kit are higher ohm, so suggest getting some replacement coils at 1.8ohm - you can dial back the voltage on the Twist and get longer charges that way.

So along with the kit....

1.8 ohm coil for the T3:

Regular Joye att:
Joyetech Joye 510 Atomizer

Delrin 510 drip tip:

When sampling you can drip a few drops through the drip tip - all you have to do is find the voltage that is best with the 2.2Ω fixed atty. You'll end up somewhere from 6 to 10Watts depending on the flavor. Stronger flavors require more wattage, lighter flavors less and some flavors taste good, but different, at high and low watts. When changing flavors have some non-flavored no nic PG or VG or a mix of the two and vape a few drops of that until the earlier flavor clears out.

The one reason I recommend the T3 is that it is the closest I've gotten to dripping without any distracting tastes of fillers from cartos or metal or plastic (some don't taste the fillers in cartos and some taste plastic from any clearos) and the T3 is less maintenance and has very low leak problems in my experience.

Later, IF you find you really like dripping and know more about how to do it - how it works best etc. then Avid Vaper/cisco is the place to go. Note the warning on the tank that you listed:

This is an experienced user product, we do not recommend these for new users or users who are not experienced with atomizers and dripping.

Same goes for his famed HH.357 atty:
http://www.avidvaper.com/custom-hh-357-cisco-spec-hybrid-510-atomizer/

Not for new users but something to keep in mind if you end up really liking to drip.

And none of the things above will become obsolete any time soon.

Both of the items you've selected would certainly get the job done but would put a huge dent in your wallet. For somebody just starting vaping I would suggest starting with something simpler & cheaper like Kent C suggested. You might find down the road that dripping isn't for you. You might want to try carto tanks or RBAs. Most of us work our way up to the expensive stuff after we figure out what works best for us.
