Really can't answer your question as it is all personal preference when it comes to building your coils, and what type of vape you are looking for. I wish you the best of luck and all I can say is don't get frustrated after many attempts at building. Practice makes perfect. Practice, practice, and more practice. And soon you will be building coils in less than 2-5 min. tops! Also ohms law, good battery's, a reliable mod, and last but not least safety is key in having a nice active coil you can brag about. Maybe try looking at the set up you like to vape on with a pre build wick/coil on your normal carto or atty, and try to build a coil in that range to give you an idea on where to be and see where you want to be from there. Again, sorry but I can't really tell you what ohm/ohms to build your own coil on as it's really up to your personal liking. Good luck!

Big question what MOD are you using? VV/VW won't go below a certain OHMs. Watch some You tube, get a idea of what you need, get a OHM meter before you start wrapping your own. I started with 28 gauge wire at about 1.5, just to get my feet wet. I like to use my DNA 20, so I stay around .8-1.0 now. I would recommend all new wrappers to wrap a bit higher and use a VV/VW mod because of the built in protection against shorts. Start slow.

I'm also about to start building my own.

I got 28g, 30g, 32g wire. Silica, Ekowool and organic cotton. An rda, ohm meter, different bit sizes to wrap around. A "Do Not Disturb" sign and I'm set to go.

Having read a ton of stuff on here, the conclusion I came to was....if you like it try it. If you don't like it, try it...you might like it.

We need an equipment list to give proper assistance. Certain devices have limitations.

I do not like 32G Kanthal and cotton. It's too finicky and fast. If you're wicking and juice don't match up in the slightest bit. The 32G just gets too hot too fast. Once you singe cotton it's done. It is not silica. You are going to taste it, and the burnt hits from cotton are not in the same ball park as dry silica. I have not used ekowool. Everything I do is pretty much cotton at this point. Tho I have a genesis to get working on where I need to learn some SS mesh.

VV/VW usually live above 1.5 ohms. Mechanical mods - 1.5 is your high mark. It all depends, but typically I've found trying to run a mechanical above 1.5 ohms basically sucks. Most VV/VW stuff isn't going to fire below 1.5 or 1.2 ohms. And if it does, plan on beating the crap out of it when you do it.

+1 I've never messed with the VV/VW mods but I live in the mech world and I love it. Loving the sub ohm builds but it just depends on what you like.

New to the forum and could really use some advice on a good VV/VW mod. I ordered a V5 Vamo - but it seems to be taking forever. Have considered the Provari, but could really use some expert advice on good VV/VW mods that don't cost a fortune and I could buy in the good ole' USA and have delivered within a week or two. Suggestions?
