First, a big "Thanks" to everybody here. The information I gathered at this site was a deciding factor in my getting the Joye 510. My first ecig was from Smoking Everywhere & it was a really bad  experience. I am, so far, very happy with the Joye 510, I've had it for just over two weeks.

But I do have one question, recently while using the 510 it got really hot. Not enough to burn but still hot enough that I had to put it down quick. I'm not sure what caused this & was wondering if anyone else has had this happen.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Mine did that too ... I was hitting it too often. If you vape frequently, it might be worth it to keep 2 put together so that you can alternate between allowing the first to cool while you use the second; then vice-versa.

You will soon learn as well to get a bigger battery model.:) The 510 is a nice, as I call it "pocket vaper". But for all day on the weekend, or in the car on a long drive, you're going to want something bigger and better. So start looking at 5volt and up models. Honestly. I have 4 different things now and still use them all at different times for different situations. But just one 510 probably won't be enough soon. Good luck.

Thanks, Ragamuffin. I've seen several posts about more effective e-cigs & that may be something I'll need but I'm sure it will require plenty of research on my part & the good advice of lots of the people here. Thanks again.

Its the atty that gets hot not the battery portguy - and I run all my attys hot - I only put them down when they are too hot to touch :D 510 doesnt mind the heat, unlike the 901 which isnt so keen.
If you think the atty gets hot NOW wait til you try a vape at 5v - I can fry eggs on this thing I bet lol.

Thanks, CaptJay. That's good to know. I was afraid I might be ruining an e-cig.

I also became very frustrated with the quickly overheated 510 atomizer, but I later realized that I was (1) trying to smoke it like a regular cigarette (strong, hard drags) and (2) making it worse because I was using a way, way too low level of nic juice. I moved to an DSE801/Joye 302 Penstyle, and LOVE IT, but I'm keeping my big stash of 510 stuff to give them another try soon.

Thanks, SeaBrz. I just discovered a bit ago that I was doing it all WRONG. I found the article by dominio38 in the ECF Library about proper inhaling techniques, TRIED HER SUGGESTIONS & IT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE.

Hey jkillb, Welcome to ECF and congrats on a great decision to vape instead of smoke! I'm glad you found a model you like. Re: it getting 'really hot' unless your vaping it repeatedly with little or no time between hits, I'd suggest that your cartridge is out when it gets hot - you either put on a new cartridge or drip more juice if you are dripping. Just my two cents - I could be wrong.

Thanks, D103. I have tried dripping, there is a "Turkish" blend that I got from Cignot that I've become very fond of - checked their website earlier today only to find they are out of all but the small bottles. Will have to haunt them for the next few days or until more comes in. Do have some other liquids that I can use meantime. Thanks again.
