Hello, I wanted to introduce myself and say I am new to the ecig world.
Mainly looking for good suppliers to buy from. I am tired of going to the local market and getting new refills every few days.

I have tried njoy disposables and Smart Smoke and another brand I can't remember. (Due to the fact the store doesn't have the refills, just the $20 starter kit with two carts/battery and usb charger)
I found a website (i can't put in the website since I am new)
the site is [e dash cig dot com]
and I am wondering if anyone here has purchased from them before.

They seem to be a lot cheaper than buying from the store. And TONS of variations.

Also looking for recommendations that anyone may have to accommodate my personal preferences.

My story:
I have always been a light smoker. (1 pack a week) My brand is Marlboro Medium (now called red-label). I have quit completely for 1-3 years at least 3 times in the past but always missed the habit. Not the smell or the slight nausea I would sometimes get from smoking. My big cravings always happen when I am driving alone by myself for any distance over a mile or so.
This is what got me going on eCigs. I was on a business trip to Florida and the rental car provided by my company had a strict no smoking policy and I got tired of stopping here and there for a cigarette. I happened to be buying gas at a 7-11 that had a counter display for the nJoy disposables. I had heard of these eCigs before but was kind of leery about trying one. I assumed it was some sort of weird chemical people were inhaling and when they first came out one of the local bars in town had them for $100 for a kit. So I had always stayed away. Now for $8 this nJoy promised it was safe and was the equivalent of two packs (totally not the case).
I got the nJoy and other than it being a little heavy it looked and felt just like a real cigarette. So I was hooked right away. no smell, no nausea, and I could "smoke" in the car and even back at the hotel room. After a day or two I had sucked my way right through that thing and that's when I decided they were definitely not the equivalent of two packs because two packs of real cigarettes would have lasted me 2 weeks easy. Still, the other benefits outweighed the extra cost in my opinion.

When I got home I looked at the local markets for the nJoy disposables but no one had them, in fact the only setup I could find at first was the "Smart Smoke" so I got one of those with the regular tobacco flavor (they had reg/light/menthol and coffee) I got in my car and started smoking it right away and was appalled to discover this already more fake looking cigarette had a green LED! I felt like a fool and put it away until I got home where only my wife could laugh at me. After some research I do see the need for other color LED's and even the no LED versions but this doesn't appeal to me.

In summation I would say I am more addicted to the physical habit than the nicotine but I definitely need that too.
I currently buy the 18mg Menthol refills because they give me that slight burning sensation that I am used to in my throat. I don't seem to get the head change that I normally do from a Marlboro so I am wondering if anyone would care to make me a recommendation for a starter kit that has a "close as possible" to a regular cigarette and maybe a refill setup that maybe is a little stronger than the 18mg (or another way to still get the familiar buzz).
I am also interested in experimenting with other flavors if possible but it's not a deal breaker. Cost is definitely a factor too. I would like to explain to my wife that not only are these safer for everyone, they are less expensive.

I don't plan on using this in a public place other than places where cigarettes are already ok. (another reason I would like to have a realistic looking setup)

Before I started using eCig's I thought it would be nice to not have the habit at all but with these now available I don't think I need to quit anymore. I originally thought I could use this as a cessation product but with no smell and most of the harmful effects of smoking gone, why bother?

Sorry to be so verbose, it's just my style. I don't like to have any questions left unanswered. :)

Thanks for making it all the way through my post

Welcome, Luke. The school of thought behind having LEDs in colors other than red is to let others know that you're not actually smoking. I know nothing about disposables, but have smoked Blu and am currently smoking V2 while I'm waiting on an E-power kit. If you want something that looks like a real cig, a lot of people like the Volt, from smokeless image. I would recommend the V2 if not for their horrible shipping; it's taken 8 days for me to get every order I made with them, even when I chose UPS 3day shipping. I don't like Blu at all. And I agree with you; I have no desire to break the habit of smoking; I just don't want to smoke tobacco anymore.

The "close as possible to a regular cigarette" for me was what I started with: a Volt starter kit from SmokelessImage.com with "Cowboy" juice filled cartomizers at 18mg. What's interesting is that you want more nicotine, but the nausea you got when smoking suggests you might have a sensitivity to nicotine. In any case, you can order the cartomizers or juice in 24 mg strength if you prefer.

A lot of people will object to me recommending a mini version. I'm not going to say it's the best thing going all around, but if you want to fake your mind into thinking you're having a cigarette and don't mind re-charging batteries frequently, a mini 808kit is a good choice. The issue is that a lot of companies that make mini 808 kits make crap and charge a lot for them. Smokeless Image's quality and customer service are very good and their prices are pretty reasonable.

Out of a bazillion recommendations I've made, I can count on my fingers the number of times I recommended a mini-cig looking device. You'll be one of them. 99.9% of them are garbage. The Volt, the similar or identical Bloog Fusion Maxxx, and the Halo G6 are three of a very tiny number of mini-cigs that, for some people, may actually be worth getting.

So, I'd say go for the Volt. It's not as cheap as the gas station models, but it's reasonably priced and you can find a 10 or 15% discount code around here somewhere. Make sure you get sufficient batteries and pick up some juice to refill your cartomizers. It's much cheaper to fill, or refill, your own cartomizers than it is to keep throwing away and replacing the pre-filled ones.

With the Volt, you'll have a very good chance of quitting smoking altogether and that's something I wouldn't say about most of the other mini-ecigs out there. Just be sure you get enough batteries. Running out of battery power is probably the #1 thing that sends people out into the night in search of a pack of cigarettes.

One last thing. Get some 24mg juice and ditch the light on the end. It's unnecessary and doesn't fool anyone one way or the other. Also, get at least one "manual" battery. Manual batteries are superior to the automatic ones. It'll take you exactly 7 seconds to get used to them and in 15 seconds, they'll be second nature. You can control a manual battery and get a proper "hit" from it far easier than you can with an automatic battery. So, do yourself a favor and skip the automatics unless you plan on doing brain surgery while you're vaping.

Amen to the battery advice! My kit came with 2 and I got a 3rd. Good thing too as one of them died yesterday! If I'd only had the 2, I'd be screwed since the battery life is like 2-3 hours and it takes at least an hour to recharge! One good thing about V2, though, is that they're really good about replacing batteries. Of course, it'll be at least 8 days until I get it, lol.

Just in case you missed the fine print, you should read that battery warranty carefully. There are a few restrictions, among them you must buy cartridges or juice from them within the last 90 days or your warranty is null and void. Thought I'd mention that in case you weren't aware and planned on getting your replacement supplies elsewhere. That weasely warranty is just one of the reasons V2 isn't on my "recommend" list.

Thanks for the recommendations so far. I have been cruising around the forum a bit and I see some of the setups others are using. Holy Crap! you guys don't mess around! All those big boxes and switches and potions. Don't take this the wrong way but the last time I saw stuff like that was hanging out with my pothead friends. I think maybe in the future I might get something like that for home use since I work from home it would probably be a good solution. But for the most part I smoke when I am driving or hanging out with friends who smoke at concerts and bars and such. I am not too interested in anything that doesn't feel like a regular cigarette. Looks are mostly secondary but I think at this point a realistic model would be ideal. I was asking about that e dash cig dot com site before because they had so many options but I saw a few bad reviews on youtube so I might stay away. However its so cheap there and the site is informative enough about the bad cigarettes out there that I sort of trust them a bit.

Is there a realistic version that is refillable that has a manual battery? From what it sounds like the volt that sailorman recommended may have this. I'm off to check that one out after I post this.
Thanks again

I'm pretty happy with the volt, and when I'm at home I prefer the manual batteries. However, I prefer the automatic battery when I'm driving. Cartomizers cost $8.95 for a 5 pack at smokeless image and you can refill them about 3-6 times. For me, the clearomizers are too bulky and awkward to use while driving or socializing, and are really designed more for the X2. If you go with the volt at smokeless image use code voltsave to save 16%.

Hi Luke Welcome to the ECF. As Previously advised by sailorman and reidus and from your well explained post that it seems that the Volt from Smokeless Image or Bloog Maxx Fusion appears as the right start for your particular tastes. I have used an 808 but it wasnt either of these and I can say without a doubt it is a nicer device than the 510 kit that I started with. One day you may want something different but its also possible that you may not. Good Luck with your search. Happy Vaping.

I have had good luck with the Vapor4Life KR808 starter kits and carts. Their customer service ranks right up there and when it comes to sampler packs of prefilled carts their variety is amazing.

I have found when starting out the most important component is the juice and figuring out which one works for you. That is why I recommend Vapor4Life when starting out - the variety in their sampler packs of carts allow you to try a large cross-section of juices at a reasonable price.

omg...you sound just like me* ...I see that stuff and go whaaa? ! I think it IS best to start with the one that looks and 'feels' like a real cig...I did....i went with V2 for a while...then..after I got the 'feel ' for it..decdied to make that switch...enjoyed vaping and knew I was going to 'decide' to stay with it...I than came here..read and read..asked and asked...and found a bigger one that lasts longer, etc...but you'll see lots of vendors around and the people that mention them...I heard of cignot..but not that one...I hope these great people here can help you..ha..I'm a newbie too...! just wanted to wish you good luck..you will find it...:) keep looking above at the drop down list of 'what's new' and check vendors and things...and what people there say..and then go to [type it in the box upper right hand corner] Deals and Steals' and see what's on sale..Mothers' day sales are going on now..and you can always come back and ask or ask the vendor themselves...email or phone..etc...good luck to you!! take good care...Lee :)

Why would anyone bother to find their favorite juice from their e-cig company? Do they really expect to get all their juice in the future from the same company they bought their e-cig from? Do they plan on buying pre-filled cartridges from here on out. I mean, I can certainly see getting a couple of flavors with your e-cig, just to get you started. But the hunt for good juices is generally longer and harder than the search for a decent e-cig. Also, the best juice at the best price almost never comes from a hardware vendor unless they are engaged in the sale of juice as a main stand-alone item, not as part of a turnkey e-cig.

The best juice comes from a juice vendor/maker and it's far more economical to get it there as well. Buying your juice from your e-cig company is like buying gas from your car dealer, or buying food from the store you bought your refrigerator at.

IMO, unless you have money to burn and plan on using the e-cig company's pre-filled cartridges on a long term basis, the quality of juice that initially ships with an e-cig is all but irrelevant. Get some blank cartridges. Buy sample juices from juice vendors and fill/re-fill cartos yourself. Don't worry too much about what ships with your first e-cig. Almost nobody sticks with pre-filled cartos from their e-cig company for any real length of time and it's all palatable enough to get you started. It just so happens that Johnson Creek makes the juice for the Volt and the V2, but they also make the juice for Blu, one of the crappiest models on the market. Point being, don't choose an e-cig on the merits of the juice. If the e-cig is worth buying in the first place, the juice will be good enough to get you rolling, and the taste of the juice says nothing about the quality or performance of the e-cig.

The model that is the same size as a cigarette is the M401 or M402. Based on you wanting one that looks like the real thing, that would be the one you are looking for. I'm pretty sure the Volt is bigger than a real cigarette in size although I have read good reviews on the Volt, also.

With the M401 or M402, you could be able to get 3-5 days on a charge and have that real cigarette experience. And it costs much less than the Volt from what I can tell:
