Hello E-cigarette forum members,

This is a post directed at those e-cig forum followers that would proudly tout themselves as forum trolls or end-alls of e-cig knowledge. I have a few questions, some typical some unique to my situation, and I'm looking for definitive answers.

First here's the info you'll need to answer the questions:

I'm a long time smoker. I am age 31 now and have been smoking full-flavor regular/menthol cigarettes since I was 9 years old -- yes 9. I smoke about 1 1/2 to 2 packs a day of 0.60 to 0.80 mg nicotine (20 class A cigs per pack). I'm REALLY interested in trying the e-cigarette as a smoking alternative and perhaps one day to quit in totality (though I like the idea of a 0mg cartridge as an option to keep puffing)

Here are my questions.

What is a good perfromer model for a "good hit"? I'm looking at a style of Yeti now but don't like the activation button, are there any out there without the button?

Should I go for cartridge refills or e-liquid?

I live in S. Korea and really only need a recharger for a USB. A USA style plug wouldn't work plus I might move to Japan, Thailand, or China soon and the plugs would be different. Are USB chargers easy to get?

Shipping to Korea is another big concern. I'm looking for a good seller that provides international shipping. Any suggestions?

I will be buying an e-cigarette really soon but I want to get a good deal, with a good product, at a good price, that fits my needs. Thanks in advance for anyone that replies.

Dear user hear are my suggestions for your research Device and DSE-901 or RN 4075. not button slight heavier and about the same size as a analog. get at least 3 batts and 3 atomizers and an extra charger. that way you will always have a batt or two charging and one,two with you charged. depending on your own Nic needs use e-juice and not carts more cost saving that way. figure out your own needs and get juice as strong as you can and cut down to it. for places to look i point you to the device and juice review sub forums here

I'm thinking that I'll end up buying a few versions it seems. It's really hard to tell which one will suit my needs from a video review. I guess it takes first hand knowledge to appreciate a video review (a standard to contrast against).

As for shipping I'm still in the dark. I've been to ~15 sites and all have standard US/UK shipping or sparse information on shipping (if they do international shipping at all). I've found some sites in S. Korea for products but I have my prejudices about S. Korean craftsmanship as everything I have ordered online since I have been here has been a sub standard product. Itemized shipping also seems hard to come by. I'd rather not even get a USA standard plug but it seems no matter which "starter pack" I choose if I opt for a USB charger I'll get the USA standard plug as well. *shrug* perhaps that's just being too picky.

yeti/510/dura/titan are the same and aside from a mod.........It is widely agreed that these give the best hit.......I love mine U can buy them with or without the manual button, although most who own them like the hit of the manual button better. I do buy I don't dislike my automatic batteries either. There are a lot of suppliers in the suppliers forum that ship everywhere and may have options or charger plugs. I would reccomend some refill carts and a bottle of liquid to see which u like best.

I would recommend east mall but they don't have refill carts, but you could buy $50 worth of juice and empty carts.

Well if you really want a automatic I would look into the DSE901, but I also vote for 510 manual. I started with a 901 and didn't like having the burnt taste after a cleaning cycle if I didn't catch it in time. The 510 doesn't have this problem. The 901 sometimes has a habit of turning on by itself, another problem manuals don't have. The 901 has an open battery so if you over fill your cart the liquid can drain into the battery and possibly kill the battery. The 510 doesn't have this problem. The only thing I have found in the 510 is that the battery has a short life before it needs to recharge.

I would also suggest refilling/buying juice. You will save a lot of money this way as the pre-filled carts don't last even close to what the manufacturers/sellers say they do. Besides you can reuse carts, just wash them and fill them with what ever flavor you want.

I have bought from a good deal of sellers and I HIGHLY recommend taking a look at eastmall.net. (China) They have pretty much everything you want all in one place and customer service is unlike any other. Plus they have the USB passthrough's you talking about and USB PCC cases.

This is based on my own personal experience. Others will have there own experiences to share with you I'm sure. :)

So, I've ordered 2x 510 manuals and a 901 auto. They're still in transit to my home but my wife and I are a bit stoked. My Mom has been using the e-cigs for awhile now and she keeps telling us how much healthier she is getting and we're really pumped to find a solid way to reduce our risk factors and increase our health.

*fingers crossed*

Thanks everyone for the advice thus far it helped a lot in my decision. I'll make a follow up post about a week or two after I receive my e-cigs and discuss how they worked out.

A friend of mine who is already an e-cig consumer warned me that I might get into the aesthetics of the product like him and become a collector, we'll see. He saves some money since he quit but has just about every model there is and loves them all (so he was no help in finding a good choice LOL)

You should of took a few of his for a test run for a day or two each. No better way to figure out whats for you then use it for afew.

An issue of distance. He's a bit out of reach or else I would have. As an update: I've received my 901 and 510's and they are working great. The company I bought from (Eastmall) hooked me up with an extra atomizer and battery per starter kit order. So 2x 510 starter kits came out to:

3x batteries
2x atomizers
1x plug charger (wasted since it's a US plug and I live in Korea)
1x universal USB charger
5x carts

I picked up 2 USB passthroughs and 2 PCC's (one each for my wife and myself)

Her extra 901 came in but she's already dismissed it for the better hit off the 510. The 901 is nice but the 510 gives a more realistic pull, makes less "intake" sound, and gives a better vapor.

We tried a cart a piece and then tried some dripped liquid and we were astounded by the difference. The dripped liquid is a much better feel and vapor. The craving is also handled better with the dripped liquid.

So far I haven't wanted an analog. I slept like a baby the first night. I usually have an analog right before bed and it roughens up my throat and I'd likely cough somewhere in the night. With these my lungs felt fine and so far the only coughing I've done is the "healing" cough that comes with smoking--long time smokers/quitters know what I'm talking about.

My chief complaint is with the liquid. I ordered menthol flavor and figured it would taste like the name brand menthol I am used to. Instead the menthol flavoring is more akin to spearmint. Anyone know of a good provider of true menthol flavor? I might as well buy kiwi-lime flavoring this menthol tastes more like bubble gum then anything else.

Long story, longer - so far it's been a few days but the experience is really positive. I'm a little afraid that I might make a mistake with the liquid but with a little organization and proper planning I think I can over come that fear.
