Hi. I just ordered and recieved my Vapor4Life kit. I really like it for the most part but I am still not getting as much throat hit as i would like and not enough vapor. It's not bad but not great. Although, it is way better than the starter kit crappy thing I ordered a few weeks ago from another company. Anyway, I have read over some of the posts in here and it is just so confusing. I don't understand all this juice stuff and other jargon. Can anyone just recommend an easy way to get more vapor and more throat hit? In easy language without 8500 thousand million numbers that are impossible to find? I need it spelled out for me like I am a 5 year old. Thanks in advance. Cheryl :)

Hi Cheryl! Throat hit largely depends on how much nicotine is in the liquid you use - are you using cartridges that came with the kit or did you get some juice already? The vapor also varies by juice but vegetable glycerin (VG) produces more than straight propylene glycol (PG). You can hover your mouse over stuff like the VG and PG and you should see the abbreviation spelled out. Any other questions? I'm new too, but happy to do the best I can to help!

Cheryl - Do you know what the mg is on your cartomizers? The cartomizer is the short/second piece of your e-cig. It might have a number on it that says something like 12mg or 18mg or 24mg and perhaps even the name of the flavor (Marl or Kent). That is the strength of the nicotine. The higher the number the higher the strength and the higher the Throat Hit (commonly known as TH in this forum).

This should not be confused with ml. You might have a bottle of juice that is 30ml. That is a measurement of the amount of liquid, not the strength.

If you can answer the mg question, we can start.

Gotcha. 18's not bad but I smoked a pack a day and am more satisfied by 24mg and the throat hit of course would be better too. Now as far as the "juice" or liquid and all that, you can buy bottles of it from different suppliers (sizes of the bottles are metric typically - in millileters or ml). You can choose between pg (more th, less vapor, some are allergic) and vg (more vapor) or a mix. Buying liquid of course means refilling your cartomizers so here's a little video (haven't looked at it so not sure how good it is but hope it's good):

Cheryl, You are absolutely correct, this is very confusing. Be prepared for a very steep learning curve but I swear, its worth it in the end!

Is your e cig a two piece? I think it must be if from V4L. Starting with the 18mg isn't bad, I may have gone 24mg myself, depends on how much and what you smoked in the past.

OK, are your batteries FULLY charged?? Green light comes on the charger?
Is there a button you need to push on the battery (known as a manual battery) to start the unit or do you just "draw/suck" on the cartomizer and that turns the unit on (that kind is known as an automatic battery).

Answer those questions and we'll go further.

Well, like MsSki said your device will perform better as the atomizer breaks in. I don't have any personal experience with the model you have so I can't be a huge help in that department, sorry. But, there are a great number of vendors out there for the juice, a ton of great flavors, and you could get maybe a VG based juice with higher nicotine content i.e. 24mgs. You don't smoke a whole lot though, so I probably wouldn't go anywhere above that.

Have you read the 6-part wonderful world of vaping? that's got a ton of info and would probably serve you better than my wicked noobness. link

Hi. Yes, it is a two piece. All of my (i already forget the lingo) top parts too the battery are 18mgs.

I am not that heavy of a smoker but I have been smoking all of my life to various degrees. Throat hit and and vapor are very important but throat hit is probably more important than anything else. I feel like I am sucking on a Virgina Slim or Marlboro Ultra Light. Yes, the batteries are fully charged.

I appreciate your help.............

Cheryl, This link has great pictures and descriptions, take a few minutes to look it over. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/vapor4life/58027-vaporking-user-guide.html

Something that "pops" out at me about your experience is the "lightness" of the draw. Where the two pieces come together (screw together) there are VERY tiny holes, maybe 4??? Try holding your fingers over at least 2 of those holes and see if it makes a difference.

Try blocking the little holes too. And when you take a drag, take a starter drag, kind of a "pre drag" and then continue to a longer harder drag. This heats up the cartomizer a little to give you better TH and vapor.

I just got my new 808 yesterday and read somewhere a simple mod for blocking the little holes where it screws in.

If you take one of the silicon end caps, and cut a piece about 6mm wide(so that what you're left with is a ring), and then you cut the ring diagonally so that one side is shorter width wise than the other, you can then place the silicon ring over where the battery and cartomizer sit. I've cut my ring so that all holes bar one are covered by the silicon ring.

Hopefully that made sense. I've definitely noticed an increase in vapour, taste and throat hit since doing this.
