Hi again,
Think my first post went on the wrong forum...so I'll try again.

I've been lurking on this forum for a week now, trying to learn about e-cigs. Just about everything I've read here has been very encouraging to me. Been smoking 'analogs' way too long, ecigs could be my salvation!! Up here in ME cigs are extremely expensive and I do not want to smoke them anymore. My worry about ecigs is this, it would be my luck I will love them and then suppliers will be shut down...what's the chance of that happening?

Ordered my first starter kit a week ago, still have not received it. Hopefully they will arrive the first of next week; at that point I will have lots of questions to post.

Thanks and I WANT my ecigs!!

Hi

Like you I am new to the site and new to e-cigs, or e-tabs, as I call them...

I have smoked between 20 and 25 analogues a day for 43 years, and to be honest, although I have made several attempts before to give up, I really didn't want to give up the habit, and thats an admission I wouldn't ever admit, even to myself.

Then, a week ago, my daughter found the e-cig forums, and we decided, that this could be the solution, so we both ordered starter kits for the 901.

We are now up to day 4, and yes, like most newbies I have at times got the nicotine balance wrong and gave myself a sore throat etc., but thanks to Spikey and her marvelous video, we both understand what to expect from our 901 and how to cope with every eventuality, thus, unlikely to give up.

Currently I still smoke analogues, and am down to 5 per day, and to me that is very acceptable.

I think we all know there is a risk of e-liquids being curtailed, but hopefully, the Governments, both in the US and the UK will see sense and realise that e-cigs can actually do what Nicotine Replacement treatments cannot, and thats help long term smokers like myself, give up the bad and replace it with 'healthier!'

Like you, I couldnt wait for my e-tab to arrive, and trust me, days later I am still loving it and still as enthusiastic, thanks mainly to all the wonderful people who post on this forum.

Than you guys !!! I couldn't have considered doing this without you lot !

Hi Me-Bel,

Your question's a tough one to answer and is on a lot of peoples' minds. Once you have your e-cig, and if a ban on liquid came in, you could still vape glycerine. A lot of people do, adding flavours to it, and some have dispensed with nicotine altogether this way.

Christena- it's great that you and your daughter are enjoying vaping. It really is very exciting - I've been doing it for months now and still think its fantastic! :)

Hi e-pipeman, thank you for the welcome, and for the tips. After reading through the forums, I sort of formed the idea in my mind that in time, once the full process is understood, I would look to reduce Nicotine levels and try the Glycerine.

I have to admit I dont feel totally happy using PG based liquids, but that's just because I haven't studied it sufficiently yet.

You know, I am amazed how little is known about the e-cig. I really hadn't heard of it before my daughter found this forum. And even then, I was gobsmacked to read postings from so many UK people.

Over and over again, I have said that the problem in giving up the tabs is not down to nicotine, but the actual habit of holding a ciggie between your fingers and drawing the smoke into your mouth, with the e-cig, you do exactly that, leaving the process of lowering your nicotine intake, a lot easier to deal with.

At first you have no idea what to expect, although the posts here warned me not to expect anything similar to a cigarette, but i couldnt imagine what it would be like.

My first was a tobacco flavour, which I didnt enjoy, as it tasted sweet, but once I got used to the difference I found the flavours such as Cherry, really enjoyable.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to joining you all on the other boards soon.
