Hello everyone!

New to the site, been vaping for a year now and can't stop!! Next stop is understanding mech mods as I've just purchased my first dripper

Correct me if I am wrong

Battery 4.2volts fully charged 2500mah. Going to hopefully parallel build coils at 1.ohms therefore it will pull 4.20 amps from the battery which should be relatively safe at 18 watts.

Does that sound right? I'm a bit confused 18watts sounds like nothing as I usually vape at 80-90 on a regulated mod.

All help appreciated

Cheers!!

Your math looks right (i = v/r).

What you care about is the C rating of the battery. It's the rating of it's maximum draw and tells you how many amps you can safely draw. Mah rating tells you the capacitance of the battery, how much energy it stores.

You should look for batteries with a high draw rating, say 30amps, when using a mech, as the rule of thumb is that your battery should be able to handle a draw higher than your build demands of it.

You will be safe at 4 amps/1.0 ohm/18 watts etc.
I am mystified totally at your logic though. You are getting into mechs because you bought a dripper?
Now, if you said 'squonking' I could understand.
It's safer to put an RDA on a box mod. Actually, not only that but have you experienced a mathematical 17.5 watts using an RDA on a mechanical? It's not great, nor is it 17.5 watts.
I'm running a 1.0ohm right now on a box mod at 22 watts. There's no comparison should I swap that to a mechanical. Not even vaguely the same experience.
Maybe you can enlighten us more about your plan?

Welcome and glad you joined. The article below may help you to understanding mech mods. If you are willing to forgo the danger, Mech M can be beautiful and close to failure proof. .1 ohm ? be real careful.

Yeah 18 Watts what was i thinking!
Researched Mech mods and Rda's Even went in to a shop and had the owner fully explain everything to me about battery safety and not to go lower than .2ohms. I've got a mech mod now and have happily built dual coils at .33 ohms using a sony vct 4 on a coilart mage mech mod with my goon 528. I also downloaded an ohms law calculator.
Over all i just wanted to experience building coils and understand how the mech's worked, still have a bit of fear thinking its going to explode in my mouth but i guess that's just severe paranoia from reading article's about clowns using low amp rated batteries in mechanical mod devices. It's amazing what you can learn in just a couple of weeks.
