I'm at the end of Day 3 of vaping, and I came here purposely to tell any and all newbies (like me), to read this forum EXTENSIVELY and DUTIFULLY.

I didn't. I read websites, and watched youtube videos, and toiled over size, and agonized over price, and ended up spending about $164 - wasted on two kits of crappy ecigs.

Had I come here first and read what these good people have taken the time to tell us, I probably wouldv'e gone with a 510, probably automatic, and with cartomizers to start me out. But noooo, I had to flush $164 down the can.

I don't work for any ecig companies or anything like that. I'm not endorsing any particular PV or products. I haven't even tried one yet. But I just odered a Vapor King from V4L with a bunch of cartomizers. I just wish I started there first.

There's always a chance you could "like" the flashy-websited-ecigs that I tried (which tasted like smoking socks). It is possible. Some people like fish. I can't understand that. Or broccoli. Or cabbage. Beyond my understanding. But I can honestly not see ANYONE "liking" the crapola ecigs I bought.

So, please read here. Everywhere on this forum. Read DonDaBoomVape's reviews. They're excellent. Even if you have to read them 3-4-5 times (like I did).

That's all I have to say about that. Again this is only my :2c:

Good advice. I was lucky enough to have a friend who had started vaping 1.5 years ago. Guess where she pointed me? V4L. They have not disappointed me yet. Though I am branching out into DIY juicing and eliquids, starting with an auto and cartomizers made the experience very easy and not too painful on the wallet.

I too wish I would have started with V4L or at the very least a kr808 w/m cartos. I started with a magma from volcano -- which is a very good ecig but just a litte on high maintance side for my liking (read: filling carts with weird stuff to make them better :p). I love my Vapor King XL bats and cartos. I'm definitely a V4L vaper for life. Unfortunately for my wallet and lucky for V4L they seem to have sales quite often which just justifies my excuse to buy something from them :laugh::laugh:

I love how the veterans look out for us newbies. Thank you guys for all your help! Big kisses! Without you we would be frustrated, broke and smoking.

There's a lot to learn early on but before you know it, you will be sharing advice/experiences with the latest newbie. There is a strong bond among smokers and ex-smokers, vaping just enhances that.

I would encourage new folks to look at the avatar/status of who they are reading and not to hesitate to check the corresponding profile page. It's not a bad idea to read a few of his/her posts as well and try to gain a little background on the advice giver. There is going to be dissenting viewpoints among folks giving advice, natch. But if you can garner some info you may find yourself in a similar situation as the adviser was/is. Then the whole process of finding the answer to your question becomes way easy. There are definitely people out there that have had the same exact issues as the latest newbie is having. And so it goes... =)

I came here after seeing an SE mall kiosk and being a 'Net head decided to research first - i founda couple of websites first (mostly complaining baout the SE, in fact one was FOR the SE adn full of complaints..) then THIS one. This one was far more rounded in opinions, and wasn't funded by Ecig makers, so it was the only one I joined.
I followed the advice (510 or a KR8), got a 510 manual from cignot and haven't looked back.
I didn't quit smoking right away btw - as that was NOT my purpose for buying a PV - but I did naturally lose my liking for smokes.
I still hang in the newbie section to pass on info - hopefully I've helped at least ONE of you at some point lol.

A LOT of us, maybe even most of us, started out with a bad purchase decision ... which led us to search the interwebs for more information. A Google search will land you at ECF pretty quickly.

Before I went that circuit, I had no clue that there were more than one or two choices available. So, for a lot of people (myself included), that first flop of a purchase wasn't a complete waste. It led us to the gold mine of information on this forum.

Jo, I made the same mistake as you but found this forum two days into vaping and was so glad to have so much information available for the struggling newbie. I didn't fret.... chalked it up to Newbie experience and gifted my first e-cig to my Son. We all have to start somewhere. As we learn through trial and error we share and help others so they don't make the same mistakes we did. This forum is the greatest thing since sliced bread and I read it faithfully.

WindSpirit - me too! I ordered two kits of "crappy" ecigs, Premium and Eluma. The Premiums were so bad I locked myself in the closet for two days and cried. Then the Elumas came, they were much better! But limited flavors and mg stregnth. So two days ago I ordered the Vapor King XL from V4L and I've been camped by my mailbox ever since. The fireflies are pretty at night. LOL JK!!
