Right, so I finally built a 1 ohm coil, or dual coil should I say. Parallel coils, 15 wraps, 25.5 gauge kanthal.
I must say, really not what I expected, really have to have the watts up high to get a good draw, takes a while to heat up and the taste is extremely dense which is good.
Think I'm gonna have to stick to lower resistance as this doesn't seem to be the way to go for me, strange considering everyone advises on higher resistance coil builds with these box mods.
By the way I have a 50w ipv2 for those that haven't seen my previous posts, any more ideas on what could be wrong or what I could so better for faster heating and an all round better vape at lower watts so as not to distort th taste as much ?

Yeah I get it. It is the same as when you try to deep fry something and the oil is not hot enough. It cooks it but it is just soggy. The sweet spot for me is around .25 or.3 with dual coils on 26 gauge Kanthal. Nice crisp hits with good flavor and vapor production. And even though on this coil build I could crank up the wattage. I don't because it gets hot to fast. I like to taste a nice deep 4-5 second draw and this is perfect for me

edit: I could be wrong but I think on a 1.2 ohm type build we would really want to use like 30 gauge. Something that heats faster. 26 gauge is not the method for 1.2ohm builds. I could be wrong but I will try it on some 30 in the next few days. Only have 26 right now.
