Opinion on DIYing the XPV with some flux and the old 45W iron ?
The only turnoff is that harness.
Well, the XPV isn't a quick-change no matter how you slice it. Even if you have spare batteries with the appropriate harness already soldered on (which Protovapor does sell for $15), you'd still be looking at pulling 8 screws and them some further fiddling.

However, it's definitely easier than changing the battery in your iPhone. ;)

I would go with a VTR. Works well will an Aerotank. Extremely easy to swap out batteries. You will not make it thru a day with 1. I was a 2+ PAD and I need 2 batteries for the day. I put mine in a leather case but you could put a J-wrap on it to make it look less shiny. It is heavy but with the Aerotank, it just fits into your hand and is not very obvious. With the leather case, most people think I am vaping a 2-way radio.

Just picked up a VTR - such a nice piece, IMO. My only gripe is that it is a fingerprint machine. But having owned a few chrome Vamos i'm used to it :p

I find the VTR pretty good if you only use 19mm tanks in it. The only other fault is the brass mix 510 threads with over time tend to ware out. I tightened down a stainless 510-510 airflow on it, which should stop the ware.
Run mine with an aerotank using a single micro coil wicked with cotton.
You can get some nice textured wraps for it as well.

Love the wrap. Just ordered a black carbon fiber for mine. The fingerprintyness of this thing is a bit out of hand

Well.... one thing for sure, I'm wanting a DNA chip in the next one.
Almost impossible to put the VaporShark down I like the vape so much.

Ordered a Cyclone today as it comes highly recommended.
Hopefully won't have to stack two magnifiers to do the build ;)

Love the wrap.

Same here.

Very cool, please post some pictures when you get it.
The VTR is still high on my list as an at the desk mod, and my MVP is great.

There's also the sx-350 chip to consider; I don't think there's any factory mods with them yet.

My guess is that it's a hold over from the early days of tiny cig-a-like batteries.
Or something like super sizing your fries because bigger always sounds better ?
Who'd want a puny 20Ah rating when you can get 20,000mAh

I think you can see 'friends' activity on your own profile page somehow.
Me I'm old fashioned and like to think of it in the classic sense when I get to know people on forums.

I always laughed hearing Japanese people selling things and an American ask," how much is that"? "2,000,000 Yen".
" How much in American money"? " Umm, 40 dolla"...lol:)

I put a thread on the Lounge and asked. Elizabeth was very gracious to explain it to me. When I was at my Profile I was like, "How do I ask to be someone's friend? She told me you have to click on the persons avatar.

I've heard a lot of people claim that the sx350 is better than the DNA30.

Have heard that on the grapevine too, but not from any (to me anyway) ultra reliable source.
Also have heard Evolv has something up their sleeve and hope it's not just more watts...

The sx350 does have reverse polarity protection, doesn't it?

Seems to be a common complaint with the DNA about the polarity protection.
I've been putting batteries in things for almost 50 years without screwing it up so am probably ok there

I haven't put one in backwards either, but nobodies perfect... It just perturbs me because there just isn't an excuse for it - it's 2014 FCOL!
It's the same thing with Bigfoot pictures - they are still blurry. lol
If you just wake up and your battery is dead and put the battery in backwards with sleep in your eyes - bam, one fried ucontroller...

BTW, I took my older e-LVT apart and they have the ucontroller laser etched so you can't see the number on it, the jerks.
I wrapped some Teflon tape around the 510 connector to tighten it up.

They do. My SX350 didn't when I got it but it was an early model. All I need to do is move one wire and Ive got the protection. I think all the ones coming out now are in the right place.

I'll be moving my sx350 chip to a smaller box this week or next week. Will move the wire so I have the protection on mine. Just to be safe I use the usb to charge till then.

This chip will be 50w on June 30th. I'm at 40w now.
