So, I got back into vaping about a month ago after getting better gear and juices, and the Volt has been good to me. I'm thinking that it would be great to have for the commute and at work, but I was thinking of upgrading for something at home. I don't feel ready for any of the fancier mods; I'm thinking I just want something with more battery capacity, a manual switch, and a lot more smoke. I've heard good things about the ego and the volcano vaporizer, and I was wondering if either of these two would be a good step up.

P.S.

Also, just tried Boba's Bounty (got it in the mail today) after hearing so many rave reviews. The first few hits, and it just didn't do it for me. Only a few minutes later when I started vaping it again, it tasted like a totally different juice; from a light tobacco with a good hit to something almost honey, graham, or vanilla-like. Good call, guys!

Go with the Ego Twist if you want an introduction into the world of variable voltage for a reasonable price. If you don't want variable voltage, I would choose the kgo over the ego. I'm not familiar with the volcano so I can't really comment on that one. Also, I think you would need new cartos or an adapter as the volt has different threading.

If you already have a Volt, then the Smokeless Image X2 batteries are the most logical next step.
They will work with all the equipment you already have.

But if you are willing to ditch the KR808D-1 models and move to 510 models then the Ego Twist is a better step up.

Whatever you do, don't move from a Volt to an Ego, unless it is a Twist.
The standard Ego will be a reduction in voltage from what you are used to.

I found that the ego is a great device... I started vaping about a month and a half ago and I made the transition fairly easily... After about a week I switched from my 510 to an ego... I think the best bet would be an Ego Passthrough so you can use it at home while on your computer and if you go somewhere you can just unplug and take it with you. There are many options to go along with the ego.. You could use a standard carto or atty, or there are tanks so you will always have enough juice

I think the ego is great and leaves you with plenty of room for improvement

Volcano Vaporizer? With the balloon? As seen Here?/ That thing is expensive! An ego would be a good choice. Would you consider an ego pass-thru?

I'm hoping OP meant an Volcano e-cig (think its a rebranded Lavatube).

If not, err gl?

If you want to try one of the herb vaporizers (for tobacco of course!) get a cheaper smaller one to try first.

They function totally different than the e-cig products we're used to (they use dried materials vs liquid).

Sigh, anybody remember the Ploom?

If you like SI products and simply want a larger battery but without the hassle of VV then get urself the X2 from SI. All the carts, clearos, ect that you have bought from them will work perfect with em. They are still regulated at 3.7 volts but allow longer vap times being they are bigger. They also allow you to use lower OHM carts if you want as they are bigger/stronger batteries. A big fan of SI is Mroutlaw and he has posted a ton of Videos on youtube regarding there products. SI makes some good products with simple use in mind. I myself went from the Volt right to a Lavatube and don't regret it any. I use my Volt when I'm out and about and use my LT while I'm at home. If you want to see Mroutloaws vids check out the following link, soem real good info in em and then you can get a better idea...

Good luck and happy vap'n!

I'm somewhat new my self. I have some of the regular volt batteries, which I love; but I've also got an eGo twist. I use an adapter on it so I can use my 808 stuff from smokeless image. While I like the ability to play with the voltage I usually find I'm happiest right around the same voltage that the volts put out (3.6-3.7)

I do have a vivi nova on order to start playing with some of the 510 stuff so the variable voltage may come more into play with me.

That being said since you're just looking for more battery life and you're already invested in the 808's I'd go with an X2 from Smokeless Image.
