2nd thread so be gentle.I will keep the history short to ease everyone's reading. Have kicked the analogs for a month now YAY. I started with a itaste 3.0 and protank2. That lasted 2 weeks then someone expressed some interest in giving it a shot so I passed the 3.0 along reduced of course. Along the way I have also helped 4 coworkers kick them as well. They are starting to look at me for advice since the B&M here seem to be money driven instead of need driven. Back on topic, then I bought a SVD added a protank3 and a nautilus shortly after. Invested in the aerotank bases for both the 2 & 3 since I got them for $3 each on an ebay auction (dumb luck). I have had to constantly change liquids to keep myself satisfied. I also have crossed into rebuilding coils for the 2 and the nautilus with pretty good results around 1.4-1.6 builds and good vapes up to 15w without burning anything except a bottle of liquid fast as heck. Hence this has now become a hobby or maybe an obsession. I need to locate a good vape liquid that's not tobacco flavor but has a real sweet taste since that's where I feel that I am happiest. My question is do I go with a new mod RTA or what. I like big flavor and big vapor production, but I find that something I try in a store does not taste the same once I am home. It does have to be mobile since I hear dripping is not the best solution and it needs to go to work car and such. Let the shots or help begin. :2c:

OK I bought a kayfun 3.1es clone from my b&m. Hits are pretty damn good. I have noticed that the resistance seems to be jumping around when I first Vape. After the fist hit it jumps to 4.4 and slowly drops and then stabilizes at 1.6 which is where the coil was built. Not sure why and any insite would be appreciated. Seems like if I burn for 2-3 pulses it goes right down. Using 28 ga a1 kanthal and 9 wrap microcoil. Should I change it?

Agree with the above. Probably the post screws are not as tight as they should be, allowing the wire to move ever so slightly and cause a change in resistance. Pulsing and the resulting heat generated may cause just enough expansion of the coil to fixate it in the post (?). Just guessing here.

Did you make a microcoil? An open loop coil may have a hot spot somewhere resulting in a variation in resistance. Microcoils are less likely to develop hot spots. With a microcoil all the loops are touching each other.

I will have to check the screws but I know that I j hooked and held with very small forecips since I was an electrician for 18 years. Yes it is a micro with organic cotton, is it possible that there is too much or too little juice at first? The Vape gets killer if I do 3-4 small hits then a big hit. Also giving a 2 second press before seems to be the sweet spot, kind wait till its growling. Another thought I have is the black finish on the threads, can it be contact issues there? Can it just be THIS clone has that quirk?

I have heard that paint finish on threads can present issues. If it was me, I'd get some paint remover and carefully remove it from the threading. However, if it is an anodized finish I'd leave it be.

There will be a learning curve with using a KFL, as with any new juice attachment. The right quantity/volume of wick is extremely important for optimum wicking. Too much cotton and the wick gets strangulated in the coil and doesn't deliver enough juice to the coil, resulting in dry hits. Too little cotton can result in the oppositie - flooding with leaking juice out the air hole. I never overfill my KFL - again results in flooding. KF's use negative pressure, and too much or too little juice in the tank upsets the negative pressure in the tank.

Once you find the proper setup of your Kayfun, you are going to love it.
