I'm thinking of upgrading from the VIP Photon (not many people seem to recognise the name, I assume there's a reason for that!) to a Vision Spinner V2 1650mAh Battery.
To go with this, I want a clearo or two that I can keep for as long as possible (the Photon has clearos you just check once they gunk up), so I was thinking along the lines of a Kanger Mini Protank 3. I see these have replaceable coils - are the wicks attached to the coil somehow? I don't want to be making my own if possible.

A little guidance would be very appreciated :) Thanks :)

While the spinners are a good choice recently there seems to be a rash of battery life / charging issues with them.

The MVP 2 and the VV V3 are very good upgrades from any type of ego style battery.
Both are easy to use and offer many features not avalible on spinner variants.
Might give them both a look before making a decision.

There are many replaceable head ( coil & wick unit ) clearo's to choose from, unscrew old head from base, screw new head into base, screw base to tank, fill, allow time for wicks to saturate, vape.

Spot on with the mvp2...
I owned the vv v3 for months and loved it before I got the mvp2. I am a machunust and thought it might be too big. It's really not that big. It is a working beast. I can go 2 or 3 days on a charge. I love the fact that its a charger for my oter e cigs and my cell phone if I need it to be.:D

$23.91 eGo-V V3 Mega / Evod 1300mAh VV/VW Starter Kit - blue / 1.5ml / 2.0ohm / USB charging cable at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

You can probably find it elsewhere that ships faster (mine took almost a month) but you may pay a bit more for it. Fantastic battery (not a big fan of the EVOD it came with) and it'll run any 510 or eGo threaded device like a pro tank, iClear, Vivi Nova etc...Variable Wattage is super nice in that you can set your chosen power level and it will detect the resistance of any tank or cartomizer you put on it and adjust the voltage accordingly...no need to memorize or refer to this

I set mine at 8 Watts and change tanks or cartos constantly.

This is the exact set-up i have right now. I like it a lot. I upgraded from a Halo Triton to this and have been impressed. You have to be careful with what charger you use...People have been having issues charging them, but according to Vision, cheap chargers aren't helping.

With that being said, if you happen to have a case of shiny-itis, you'll eventually start looking at different things soon. It happens!!

Right. Thanks for the heads up about the issues with the Spinner batteries Topwater Elvis... I'm probably going to wait a month before getting anything anyway (I've only had this one for 2 weeks, but I already feel like I could get better!)

I'm not sure about the MVP 2. No one I know smokes, and when I turned up with my current eGo style kit to visit my friends recently, they all said it was ridiculous (and then apologised and said what a good girl I was for quitting smoking - but still.)

I don't want to look conspicuous!!

The link that 69CamaroSS provided looks more like what I can deal with. Like what I've got, but with more buttons (which you'd assume means MORE FUN). However.... it looks a bit more complicated than just turning a dial! I don't really understand the chart, tbh. I don't even see Watts mentioned on there (honestly, you would never believe I took a physics A-Level).

Edit: Silly. Now I have re-read your post, I see you're saying you don't HAVE to understand the chart!!!

My life is full of shiny-itis. It's my one vice (now that I'm off the analogs!)

My life is also filled with indecision. I wish there were just three options: rubbish, alright and good. And they were priced accordingly. Would make this so much easier :D

LOL. Just an up (+) and down (-) button and the one to fire the coil. If you set the desired Watts (corresponding to the numbers INSIDE the chart) it'll automatically set the volts for you according to whatever resistance coil is in your tank or cartomizer. If you go the variable Voltage route, you have to select the voltage according to the resistance. Watts are the way to go and the eGoV V3 is as simple and inexpensive as I've found. The link I posted is for a 1300mAh (long runtime) version that is also a Passthrough which means that you can plug it in and vape it while it's charging if you wish! ;)

For flavor in a small package try the Aspire BDC CE5 or the Kanger Evod. Both have replaceable coils that screw into the base once you remove it. They will also match the slim size of the Vision Spinner for a streamlined look. The Protanks are also a good choice, but personally I think the Aspire BDC and the Kanger Evod win for flavor over the Protank and the Protank 2.

The spinner 2 is 16.5mm so a bit wider than evods. only thing I have seen that would be flush is that aerotank mow I posted a link to. I've been searching cause I got one for my wife so should would stop using my mvp plus she prefers tube to box (no metaphor intended)

Thanks all!

djsvapour - yes, you posted a link to the itaste vv v3 on my noob thread, but I started this one to get a better idea of what my other options are. I do like the look of it, but the battery, in my mind, seems tiny (in power, not in size).

The Ego V v3 mega looks like the same thing with a bigger battery. Am I right? It looks like what I want except I can't find a UK store that have them in stock.

I can't wait to try something new, only 1.5 weeks til payday when I can start putting more thought in to it :)

Really not keen on the mvp2 - if my googling skills are serving me right, it's a weird ("weird" - just because I'm not used to seeing them) box thing, right?

I definitely think whatever I change to, changing my clearos is going to make the biggest difference. Can't wait to get something that I trust not to fail out of the blue. Yesterday, the clearo I was using developed a small crack at its base (I think it might have been there from the day I opened it, but I thought it was aesthetic rather than an actual issue) and leaked everywhere, and one of the two spares I had with me had a manufacturing defect that I didn't notice until my juice leaked everywhere AGAIN - the top of the clearo where it meets the unscrewable mouthpiece had a bit of plastic that didn't meet the metal edge. And I'd filled with my favourite butterscotch to make me feel better.
