Ni-mh 4.8V batterys

Ive been running the E-fest and AW high drain Li-on batts on my Mech mods. Do these batteries really run at 4.8V and are they good for vaping...Need some help from the ECF community on this or direct me to a thread with this info....I've been looking and can't find anything so Is this battery that new??? a Li charge should be 4.2 v full charge and yes it really is that high, it does not stay there but that is full capacity. so 4.8 would be top for a little while.

the battery you link to is a joke, 600Mah and the same size as a 18650? the pannys i run are 2900Mah. even 16350s go to 700mah while Nimh is safe at high draw i wouldnt feel safe using a non imr rated battery for vaping. and at 8 dollars is no bargain unless it can recharge in 5 minutes.
not only that 4.8 volts and a subohm coil is serious current and wattage and i think its not worth the risk for a battery that is not specifically designed for high drain situations.

if they are real mnke's they will be fantastic in a mech.

just a side note:
while i dont believe in getting ripped off, i do feel for as long as they last (how many months) batteries should be the last place we worry about saving a buck or two. if you find a deal cool but 10- 12 bucks isnt bad for something that lasts months and months and quality pays for itself

I am not looking to save a buck or two!!! This is not even my issue!!! I want a top performer batt...I've been vaping for sometime and this thread/link is more for a few buddy's...I keep telling them stuff but they don't believe me??? I know IMR Li-on high drain batts are what you need for vaping!! Yes the MNKE are real and from what I read they are the best batts for vaping???? Can you confirm this Thrasher for my buddys???

I wouldn't use it in an APV unless the APV manufacturer recommended it. Or I'd use it in an all-mech mod if I used the proper ohm coil.

Ni-Mh at 4.8 is not uncommon....see a stacked version with "The Puck". However, know what you are doing. Also find the amp limit for your particular make/model battery (see specs). NiMh batteries are higher-amp and quicker to charge as a general rule. They also need a the proper charger. They don't hold as much as Li-Ion and the like.

So...1) See spec sheet for that particular battery. Somehow. You MUST know the amp limit.
2) Don't EVER mix up the chargers (some smart chargers can do both..but again...be aware and smart).

I have too many high end VV and Mech mods...I don't wanna look at there spec sheets.....I wanna know the most common and the highest quality batt I can use...My buddy was looking to buck the system and use this 5V batt..I did not agree, hence I posted here cause I could not give a good answer to advise against it!!!!

They were sold by vaping vendors mostly for mech mods, as I understand it. People don't use em much due to low mAh ratings. But some have used 4.8 NiMH.

panasonic 2900pd or 2250hybrid with AW right behind that for VV mods.

NiMH is quite ....ty tbh. They run at 1.2v, so you have to stack 4 of them to get a 4.8v battery. (I usually distinguish between "cell" and "battery" for that reason. A battery is a collection of cells).

So, to get the battery you linked, you have to stack 4x 600mah NiMH cells in series to get 1x 600mah 4.8v battery. By using lithium cells, you can get "almost" the same voltage with just one cell. So, you don't "waste" 3 cells just to reach your desired voltage. Also, energy density is higher in lithium cells (may vary by specific chemistry). With the same sized cells, you could stack 4 Li-Ion cells in parallel to get, say a 2400mah battery. Or you could just use a bigger cell, which makes more sense.

Look closely at the battery linked, and you'll see it's is indeed made up of 4 small cells.

Although this is discussing stacking them rather than using specialty "pre-stacked" 4.8 stuff.

The biggest thing is that they lose power so fast. You really can't "store them" charged for long (often not a big deal for vapers since we use em up so fast). There are hybrids though. However, you need to double check specs on those to be safe. They may trade max-amps for better storage time, IDK.

The easiest answer I can come up with is the aw imr 18###. Tried, true and popular. Might not be the best (priced or quality) but its sure is a "standard".... Just my two cents.

The battery in the link in the first post is a stack of four 1/3A size NiMH.
I'm intrigued by the 2/3A size. They look good on paper. 1600mAH, 10C max.

Nitecore i4 chargers will charge Li Ion and NiMH side by side...but will take alot longer.

It autoadjusts for the NiMH but remember they have MUCH larger mAh rating at a lower voltage so they take longer to charge
