I've got a Sourin Air and have been using regular vape juice in it, 18 mg. I've been having problems with burn hits with this thing. It's been a constant issue. After reading up on it and talking to the guy at the vape shop it seems like this is typical with this unit. It was suggested I use nic salts in it since the Sourin Air has trouble with thicker juice.

I bought a bottle of nic salt juice, Natur brand, 24 mg. It seems to hit my throat really hard. Makes me cough a lot. So...is this typical of nic salts? Is it possibly the brand of juice? 24 mg doesn't seem like a real big jump up from the 18 mg I was using.

Looking for some input from those experienced with nic salts.
Thanks.

Nic salt comes in at least two varieties. One that lowers throat hit and one that still provides throat hit.

as far a the device nic salt or freebase isn't going to make any difference.

Change to higher PG for faster wicking but this may also make you cough as PG can be high throat hit too.

How do you know which is which?

In Commercial ejuice that is higher nic content I would assume that it is the one designed to lower throat hit as that is normally the point of using something in 24mg and up to vape. Unless it says on the bottle I don't think there is a way to tell in pre-made what they used. In base you mix, you can order either a nic salt base with throat hit or a nic salt base designed to lower throat hit.

Nic salt can be used the same way that freebase is used. If wicking is your problem, you could try a higher PG which is thinner. Or you could use a few drops of Distilled Water to thin out your juice for better wicking.

If you are buying nic salts in bulk as base, I'd say usually they are labeled as smooth or not smooth.

As far as manufacturers, I'd think contacting them directly would be your best bet.

IDK what you have, but from the sounds of things, well, it may be your VG/PG ratio. It could also just be the device itself, I have heard many things about it, not all of them good, and my son really developed a rabid hatred of his. He said it "clogged" and the solution (IIRC) was to open and clean out the airflow somehow or other (I don't know much about pods) but he was pretty much constantly having to do it to avoid dry hits. It's just not very well designed from all I hear, unfortunately.

Nicotine Salts come in different throat hit variations so you can tailor your ejuice to your personal preference. For example, Nude Nicotine has Salts available in hit, normal, and smooth. For me this is better than freebase nic since I can get the exact throat hit I'm looking for. The other difference, it is absorbed quicker in your body so your nic cravings will be satisfied quicker. I know some say they can't tell the difference in the quicker absorption, but this has been well tested and it is proven from a scientific perspective.

In all other regards you can treat it the same as freebase nic and just mix to your desired level. It's not just for pod systems and can be used in any recipe the same as freebase. I mix my juices at 3mg and 6mg with smooth salts and find it works great for me.

I find salts preferable to freebase because now I can tailor my juices for throat hit as well as nic levels.

A majority of pre made salt nic juices that Ive tried have almost no discernable throat hit at 50mg/ml even at 50/50pg/vg. At first it was actually quite strange because I was getting more throat hit from 3mg freebase than with 50mg salts.

I did get one bottle of nic salt juice with a ton of throat hit though. At 55mg it's basically unvapable in anything other than maybe a Juul. As far as I can tell there's no way of knowing what type of nic they used in their mixture. That particular juice was also 70% VG.

That I know of Beard Salts, Salty Man, and Solace are all nic salt brands that have almost no throat hit at 50mg. At least 2 of them make salts in 25mg as well.
