You want something higher than 18mg, so you can add to it without lowering your nic level. And yes, you can use the calculator regardless, and you should. You want to keep notes so you can recreate your masterpieces. I have always used 100 mg, because I measure out less with that, and 120 mls lasts quite a while. I started out at 24mg/ml, and dropped a few times so that now I make 6mg juice - and 120 mls lasts a long, long time at that rate.

I would get 100mg nicotine and get the "Ejuice me up" app that calculates everything for you. I wouldn't be able to do DIY without the program, it's great.

I also have a question. Does nicotine need to be stored in a fridge/freezer or will it be fine at room temp? Even for years. Will it turn bad eventually?

I think nic is okay in a cool, dark place for several months, maybe a year. I put mine in the freezer, because I'm still not sure how long it's going to take me to use it up once made into juice. I'm reading that it will last two years or more in the freezer, and most likely will start to lose potency after that. Probably not spoil, just kind of lower in nic level, which to me is not a big deal.

What base should I get. Pg or vg..... I normally use 50/50 juice. Thank you

I made the mistake of doing my juices at 100% vg, so my first nic was, too. It is SO thick it's ridiculous. You live, you learn....

I think you'd be fine with either 100% pg or 50/50, but 50/50 might be easier to calculate, and you'll use up your pg and vg bases more equally.

Here is another calculator but the website has some very good information on mixing.

Do It Yourself E-Liquid (E-Juice) Recipe Mixing Station!

There are also so many wonderful threads on ecf for the DIY'er. Not to mention the great folks here that will help you any way they can. Good luck to you and have fun with it. :)
