I am fairly versed in nickel and TC and vaping in general. My question is that this morning I was attaching a brand new nickel coil wrapped around steel mesh in my next gen atomizer. It was early and dark and I wasn't paying attention and for less then 1 sec. (Being literal) I held down the fire button without having registered the new coil yet and the resistance was set for the previous atomizer I had attached which was 1.3 ohm roughly. This means that for less than a sec. I fired 30 joules through a mod set at 1.3 ohm but on my next gen which has a coil that is .07 ohms. Did this fry the coil or mess up anything? I just know there is a lot of controversy over nickel and safety and that you aren't supposed to dry burn ever. I think I am being a worry wart but just wanted to make sure.

Edit: I just looked at the coil and it looks completely together and unharmed. Not melted or distorted in anyway that I can tell. Still need some input though.

I just know that if the new coil that had an ohm of .07 wasn't registered and fired on the device which was set at 1.3 ohm then it possibly could have fired out of range of the temp ceiling. Like I said coil looks fine now that I've looked at it and I had the chip in the "soft" setting which means it didn't fire 30 joules all at once and I had only fired for less than a second.

Could have possibley applyed a higher voltage to the coil because it thought it was a higer resistance than it truly was.Wether that would have been enough to heat the coil to the point of damaging it in that space of time I don't know.
Aesthetically the coil looks totally normal. If the coil did get get damaged from higher voltage/power then would I be able to tell by looking at it?

From my understanding the only concern with dry firing Nickel coils is that around 1600 degrees nickel puts off a poisonous gas. Mods won't allow that much heat into a coil to start with but dry firing heats the coil up much more than wet. As long as you didn't fry the heck out of it you should be fine. If the coil is still in one piece and looks good, I'd say you're fine.
