Ok so i was watching tv, minding my own business and this advert came on for... you guessed it..Nicorette Quickmist. Now, here I am thinking.. and orally inhaled nicotine delivery system? Gee.. that sounds familiar..

Now, as mentioned in another post, I am stubborn, so I just could not let this go. My results..

NICORETTE® QUICKMIST® | Fast Craving Relief | NICORETTE®

NICORETTE® QuickMist in addition to the active contains: propylene glycol, anhydrous ethanol, trometamol, poloxamer 407, glycerol, sodium hydrogen carbonate, levomenthol, mint flavour, cooling flavour, sucralose, acesulfame potassium, hydrochloric acid and purified water.

vape juice.....

http://..................../r…/524205/Logan%2527s+Winter+Ice

Nicotine juice 48 mg (100% PG)
PG dilutant
VG dilutant
Menthol (10% dilution ) (SF)
Wintergreen (TPA)
* This is a 3mg nicotine vape juice. Should be used in an atomizer. Use 12mg to 18 mg for a vape pen. (produces much less vapor per pull)

Now, tell me again about the [edited] POOP in my VAPE?

*links are for reference material only*
**vape juice recipe was mint, to compare to the mint flavoring of nicorette (assuming the wintergreen flavor used in the gum)**

You aren't really expecting a level playing field are you. BP and BT have the deck loaded. Seems that "tobacco" product came out after 2007. Do you think it will be freely available in late August....you bet your .... it will!

Considering hydrochloric acid is part of your gastric acids, I don't see why you're harping on this. HCL is used in many medications.
Just because something is in my stomach, does not mean I want it in my lungs! Your stomach has a protective lining your lungs do not. Comparing what is in a persons gastrointestinal tract to what you would put into your lung is just plain stupid, and Im not to polite as to not point this out.

No, of course not. I'm just commenting on the hypocrisy in play here. It also seems to me, that I recently read somewhere, that VG (or could have been PG) has been used for years in inhalers. You know, the "puffers". Except that rather than being heated to produce vapor, it was fired using compressed gas. I think i found this while researching the chemical make up of PG, VG and EGW (antifreeze). EGW being the stuff Mom sent you out to warn Dad to clean up if he spilled any while topping up the car so the dog wouldn't poison himself and not to drink moonshine, because moonshiners used old copper tubes and hoses from cars n such, that could contain antifreeze or wiper fluid, and you could go blind. *Isn't that considered---"working as intended" in regards to moonshine?*

I expect the hydrochloric acid freebases the nicotine, it is QUICKMIST after all.
I don't know. I was just pointing out, all the hype and nay saying from these tobacco and pharmaceutical companies about what might be in vape juice, but not one peep from them about what IS in their products, like this niccy inhaler. Even so, I still would not want it in my lungs. God knows what 20 years of smoking has done to them, I'd rather not eat away any more of what i have left with acid. It may be a very weak solution, but if eating an apple can dissolve tooth enamel, I would rather not find out what the long term effects are. I wonder how many scientific studies they did on the effects of inhaling HCl for 3 months, after a 20 year study?

GBalkam, I share you outrage. I'm familiar with this product and we talked about it here in the past--many times. It's also recommended for people 12 years or older.

A few comments:

1) Nicorette Mist is illegal in the US; it's marketed in Canada, the UK and Australia, though.
2) It's not technically an inhaler--you just spray this "mist" (vapor?) into your mouth but you're specifically instructed to not inhale.
3) Nothing is being heated.

Cheers!

Yeah, i figured nothing was heated. Though i did think of getting a lung full of those breath mint sprays. I compare mist to vapor because it is essentially the same, just a different method to produce the effect, and different size particles. I used to do spray painting, so I have a real good understanding of mists. (painfully learned from the extraction of nose hairs) I have nothing against nicorette, I was using that as an example of the slanted stories being posted by media, which in many cases are so slanted as to lose any elements of truth they may have once had. You know, like "we are a big pharmaceutical company so our product is safe, but e-cigs are not because we don't make money off vapers".

"It's also recommended for people 12 years or older. " What about the 11 yr old nicotine addicts? How do they quit smoking? You know what it is? Its all those 12 yr olds that started vaping back in 2003! We can just neglect to mention any mathematical facts here.... I blame the parents. I mean, How does a mother not notice a wee hand snaking out from under her skirt to pinch cigarettes (or e-cigs) from her purse?

If you're putting it in your lungs, you didn't follow the instructions on the package. Sorry, we can't save people who can't follow directions.
