I've read numerous posts about nicotine base suppliers and am still confused....maybe even more confused than before. Anyhow, it seems that Wizard Labs is rated the best by most but unfortunately, they're out of stock (I've learned that's not unusual). Who would you recommend next. I'm looking for a bottle I can use now but also an additional bottle I can store in the freezer for later use. I also want something that comes in glass because of storage considerations and what base you recommend: PG or VG for 60mg base. Price is not a priority over quality.

Thanks so much.

Also, can you state the actual name of the supplier. I see a lot of abbreviations being used but being a newbie to this, I don't always know who the vendor is. Much appreciated.

I did pay $5/liter extra for the glass bottles in my wholesale order. They come with a seal under the cap, cap screwed on tightly and shrink wrapped on, professionally labeled, wrapped in layers of bubble wrap inside a heavy-duty ziplock bag inside yet another heavy duty ziplock bag, well packed, and shipped FedEx. Good stuff from a vendor that's been fast and reliable for me.

Yeah and in regards to long term storage, by the time someone purchased glass bottles with lids and paid shipping, they would probably come close to or surpass that $5.00 per liter. So it really all comes out about the same.

I buy mine from WL, 120ml at a time (in plastic). Then I simply divide the nic solution down into four 30ml amber glass bottles (3 filled to the top, also bought from WL), put those three in the freezer and work out of the partial fourth. Has worked for me so far, I use up a 30ml and then start another, will reorder when I start the fourth. Will give me plenty of time to catch it in stock.

One of our resident chemists stated that VG does better for long term freezing than PG. For the exact quote go here; http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/403326-ok-guys-need-bit-help-once-again-nic-storage-without-freezer-2.html#post9284215 And the whole thread holds quite a bit of info on the long term storage of nic base.

BTW, someone said something about warming up out of the freezer nic base in hot water. It's preferable not to open frozen nic base until it's returned to room temperature naturally. Opening it while frozen, or very cold, can introduce condensation into the bottles, and water has been seen as the culprit when nic "goes bad" which although rare, does occasionally happen. Most of the time it's simply a case of nic oxidation, and some of us actually like the taste of oxidized nicotine.

RTS is good but it comes in white plastic bottles, or at least they did the last time I ordered from them. I believe the only place I've ordered from that ships in glass is MyFreedomSmokes. NicoHog posted the links.

When I first started dyi I ordered from myfreedomsmokes and you are correct they do come in glass bottles. I've ordered a few times from them and never got a bad bottle of NIC. The only reason I stopped getting it from them and started using WL was the price. The quality is just as good as MYfreedom.

that's a good plan - I think I'll borrow it.

To me it's the price and consistency. Every time I've ordered from WL, what I've gotten has been crystal clear and well-packed in cobalt bottles. This last time around, I fell for a vendor that had a 20% off sale and also carried 60mg WL nic (WL was out of stock at the time). It's probably OK, but it kinda bugs me that they packed it in a white bottle with a see-through strip, and it's brownish yellow.

What PG/VG ratios do you order if you plan on freezing...

My nic solution is PG.

I was getting low in the one I had been using so had to pull a 30ml out of the feezer this afternoon, wait for it to warm to room temperature to get all the ADV 30ml's planned done today. Have a dozen new recipes that'll get 5ml test batches done tomorrow. The ADV's I mixed today are on their 4th 30 minute bath in the UC right now, so ought to be ready for a taste test tonight. I'll run them again tomorrow a couple of times and let them sit for a few days though.

Do NOT over-think this.

Remember, your taste buds are not the same as other people's. We see this all the time with ejuice recommendations, people recommend juice and you end up hating it. :)

START somewhere. Order a small batch and see if you like it. After all, you're the one who is going to have to *compare* different nic base solutions to each other, right? Nobody else can do that for you.

Pick one or two, and just try 'em.
