Hi Guys

So I just upgraded from a eGo pen style vape to a large 40 watt regulated box mod with a .5 ohm single coil rba. With the eGO i used to vape 12mg because the throat hit was just right. With my new box mod the hit is way more intense and i am really unable to get those super fat clouds. Is this normal to go down in nic level to produce those large clouds while still maintaining a satisfying nicotine delivery? Thanks

Yes, and think of in terms of total nicotine rather than nicotine per ml.

If you vape 4 ml a day of 24 mg/ml e-liquid, you are "processing" 96 mg of nicotine (I say processed for lack of a better term because not all of the nicotine is going to be adsorbed into your body).

Lower resistance/higher power devices will consume more e-liquid, so you have to lower the nicotine content of the e-liquid in order to keep the same amount of nicotine being processed.

I started out with 24mg liquid to be sure I was going to not crave cigs. With ego type devices / clearomizers, I immediately dropped to 18mg. But as soon as I got into dripping / RDAs / RTAs with higher and higher wattage, nic kept dropping. I am currently at 6mg to 8mg juice vaping at 12-20 watts. Best of all, NO cigs whatsoever for almost 20 months now. -Just my experience. :2c: :vapor:

I started with 24 at first and almost immediately dropped to 18. About 6 months later, the 18 was getting so strong all I could taste was the nic. Then I dropped down to 15 by buying one each of 18 and 12 and mixing them 50-50. About 4 months ago, I stepped down to 12; now 12mg nic is starting to get too strong. Time to bring it down to about 9.

I was warned to go with lower nicotine because of the tank I was using. When the clerk heard I was using a sub ohm coil, she said to stick with 6mg because (as already explained) more vapor means more nicotine. I listened, even though I used quite a bit of smokeless tobacco, and was let down. Next bottle I bought was from a place that mixed on site and could tailor any nic level. I went with 9mg. Still wasn't doin it. I'm at 12mg now and it is just right.

I'm still happy I started low and worked up rather than vice versa though. Hopefully, I will start lowering it, after a while.

Hopefully regulation doesn't take the abiltity to adjust nic levels away. It's great to be able to ween yourself off the stuff.

I have always from day 1 vaped in the same 1.5-2.2 ohm range. I run a Kick mod that is regulated to 5-12watts
I started, June '14 with 20-24mg juice, on a EGO1100mah batt and Protanks, by the end of July was at 18mg, dropped that down to 12mg in October, Just placed orders with MVJ and Net.com at 10mg.
Figure by the end of Summer I can be at 0 nic if I chose.... Having to decide whether or not to keep vaping. Zero nic is the point at which I will say I'm near being an Ex-Smoker. Yes I consider Vaping as SMOKING. In the same way Pipe and Cigar smokers DO NOT consider themselves smokers.
