Nicotine Overdose Off 6mg

I currently vape 18mg and can only handle about 10 vapes before being satisfied.

Thinking of using 6mg as a chill out vapour to use in the evenings whilst watching tv.

I'm a 20 plus smoker and plan on switching to ecigs 100% and wanted to know if I chugged on a 6mg juice for an hour non stop what's the chances of Nicotine Overdose?

You'd have to keep vaping past the nausea and tremors and irregular heartbeat and hampered breathing before you would start to run the danger of ODing. What I find is that, if you vape liquid that is 1/3 the strength, you will just vape more of it until you feel satisfied and then stop naturally before you reach the OD stage. If it takes 10 vapes of 18mg for you to feel satisfied, it should presumably take 30 vapes of 6mg before you would have ingested the same amount of nic.

A nonsmoker would have to consume ~100ml of 6mg/ml within that hour to have a chance at overdose effects.

The current LD50 is estimated to be 120mg for nonsmokers and 240+ for smokers (all though newer studies propose this number is false since its extrapolated from mice and could be 10 times as much)
Also you would be lucky if 20% of the nicotine in the juice actually reached your bloodstream
Also nicotine gets metabolized in 3 hours at which point you can give it another go! :D

I compiled a description of an average nicotine overdose(based on real world observations) for a local forum a while ago, ill translate it here:

15 min
nausea
light headedness
vomiting
........

30 min
elevated pulse
elevated blood pressure
hyperventilation

40 min
cardiac arrythmia
pulmonary hypertension

60 min
cramps
death

Provided medical assistance during the overdose usually means full recovery, also i think most people claiming to be dizzy or nauseous from nicotine are getting these symptoms from something else, either a placebo or intolerance to some other chemical since it really takes a lot of ejuice to make you overdose on nicotine.

I'm a 6 mg chain vapor. I started at this level simply because for me, it's the hand to mouth and inhaling/exhaling activity that kept me on the analogs. I knew that if I started at a higher level I would probably make myself sick. When I say I chain vape, I mean I CHAIN vape and I have yet to get any real negative effects other than occasionally I'll feel a little bit of a headache starting and I know I need to back off for a bit.

Based on my own experience, I would say your plan is a sound one.

Nicotine overdose is a very serious thing, but fortunately, your body will let you know long before it happens if you're ingesting nicotine via vapor and not via drinking the liquid. If you get a headache, dizziness, nausea, or tremors, put your vape down. The good news is that this is highly unlikely, as (would post link but forgot where I found this info) it takes about a half hour of vaping 12mg juice to get the equivalent of one cigarette's worth of buzz. If you're vaping 6mg, there's definitely no need to worry about overdose unless you ingest the liquid orally or drip it in your eyes or something like that.

At 6mg/ml you really have to make a serious effort to OD via vaping.

I vape 18-20mg/ml. Very rarely I notice a very slight nausea building. At that point I no longer feel like vaping. That's all there is to it, really. I believe that when people talk about OD-ing on vape, they mainly refer to this very sensation. A slight nausea. Maybe a little headache. And a considerably lowered desire to vape more for the time being. Not anywhere near the kind of OD people do on other stuff. Just "too much nic, I'm stopping", not "I'm dying and need immediate medical attention".
