First if 12 mg is making you sick, the 6 is the way to go. No you won't get withdrawls. If you do get too much nicotine, stop vaping for a few hours, drink a glass of water, lay down for an hour or so, drink more water then eat something bland (crackers, cottage cheese, boiled egg.) see if you fell okay then, if not more water, no vaping for at least an hour after you feel okay, then take it easy on the vape so you don't get overdosed on nic again. If you do not feel better within 4 hours - go to the hospital, you may have nicotine poisoning, and that needs medical attention.

So I've been vaping at 12mg nicotine for about a month. I ran out of juice and picked up a 6mg juice Cus I want more flavor.WWould this give me withdrawals vaping at 6mg?? And also when I get "nicotine sickness"(nausea vomiting dizziness) how do I get rid of it? Thanks very much:)

When I stepped down on the nic I tended to vape more for awhile. I don't know why you would think you'd get more flavor from stepping down though. The flavor should be about the same, but the TH is less at lower nic. If you want to cut down on your nic why don't you vape at both levels for awhile and work yourself into it? If you're vaping at 6mg and aren't satisfied, then just vape at 12 a little bit.

If you feel like you're getting "nicotine sickness", slow down on the vaping, or switch to the lower nic. Don't forget to drink plenty of water to keep hydrated.

I actually started on 6mg liquids as I didn't want to overdo it, and found myself moving up to 12mg. If you don't feel satisfied by the 6mg, you could simply vape twice as much of it, and voilà, you will have taken in as much nicotine as the 12mg juice.

I'm certainly no expert on taking in too much nicotine, but it seems intuitive that to begin recovery you simply stop taking in nicotine. That is, just cease vaping should you get a headache or dizziness, etc. Give your body time to cope with what is already in your system.

If you're getting sick from your nicotine level, cut it. Now. Run, do not walk. You shouldn't be getting nicotine overdose in your vaping. That is Very Much Not Good.

And if cutting the nic level does "withdrawal", I sure haven't noticed. I was a heavy smoker so it seemed to make sense to start fairly high. So I got 18 and 24mg. I didn't get sick off it but I couldn't get to sleep for hours on end at night. Wasn't a "jittery" thing, I was just wide awake. Until, like, three and four in the morning.

I backed way off. My most common level is between 6 and 9mg now. Have some 12 and 18 around I would use for those times I would have been prone to smoking (after a meal or first thing in the morning) then switch down. Now I'm starting to dilute the remaining 18. Cutting it to 9.

Thing with me is I really like my vape. So I vape quite a bit. Folks to vape less frequently may need higher nic to fight off the cravings but I like to vape. A lot. So I had to go low nic. It varies from person to person.

But vaping should not make you sick. Period. Cut your nic. Especially if you're getting nausea and vomiting. That's kind of serious stuff. A mild headache and some "woozy" is a sign to back off but actual "sick" is a sign to change your ways fast...

I think you've probably got some solid advice here already, but I'll add a little of my experiences. In the beginning I had to pay attention more to cravings/satisfaction. I also had to learn to drink more water. Vaping dehydrates and too much nicotine can definitely lead to headaches or nausea. When you're really sick to your stomach and not-so-right in the head, you're probably close to nicotine poisoning. Not something to play with or take lightly.

If you're going to chain vape, you need to vape low strength. In my case (in the beginning) I matched my existing habit with a higher strength, but less frequent. For instance, I generally smoked 20 traditional cigs in a day, I would vape 24 or 36mg strength about 20 times a day. I would also vape for only about 4-5 minutes because that's what I generally would do with a traditional cig. The average smoker takes about 10-12 draws on a tobacco cigarette. I basically did my best to match my habit.

When I became more accustomed to vaping and I began using my ecigs more and more, I decreased the strength more and more. I currently vape 12mg juice and don't miss the high strengths at all.

Well thanks guys:) also I meant like me doing an INSTANT drop from 12mg to 6mg would affect me

Doubt it.

The basic thing going on with this nicotine stuff is us nicotine addicts (well, we are) get used to having some amount circulating in our blood streams all the time. Whatever amount is normal for whichever person you're talking about. When it drops below some level, we crave the stuff. When you smoke, you reach for your cigs. And probably didn't think about it much. You just go by feel that the level is low and you need a "fix" right?

(Or if you have to go a long time in a "smoke free" situation like flying, you get "nicotine fits" and all)

You just try (without thinking about it really) to maintain a level of nic in your system. Ever try switching to "ultra lights" or knew somebody who did? That's lowering the nic level suddenly. You just end up smoking more cigs to hit the same nic "target" (I did the ultra light thing, one of the "I wanna quit brands", the "cutting back" thing don't work :) ).

If you're getting negative effects from the nicotine, you're already vaping enough to deliver too much nic at your current level. "Too little" (which can cause "nicotine fits" and such) isn't the problem in this case. You're overshooting your level (whatever that level is for you).

But "withdrawal"? Nah. I often use 18mg in the morning for a while then switch to 6mg to coast a long much of the day. I don't do anything "gradual". I take one clearo off the battery and put another one on. Never miss a beat.

Seriously, though, if you're getting bad reactions from too much nicotine, it'd be better to drop way down on the nic level then, if necessary, move up gradually to find the level that works best for you. Worst case scenario in a "too low" situation is you chain vape. Big whoopee. That's pretty trivial compared to making yourself sick.

I did the same as BlueMoods for a while, I'd vape 24+ in the mornings and switch to 0-6mg during the day, another round of 24mg after dinner, and then no-nic vaping for the night unless I needed to stay awake for some reason, then I might reach for 6 or 12mg liquids. Luckily I DIY so having umpteen different nic levels around wasn't a major bank-breaker. You won't notice a huge difference dropping nic like that, in fact you'll probably feel better as you won't be getting sick from a borderline nic OD.
