I smoked a pack a day since I started around 7-8 years ago... As for using the blu, I only continued to use it for a day or two once I got my PV almost 3 weeks ago. I guess I've been able to quit just having something to distract me for a few minutes but I love the flavors!

I'm all about the flavours too! It's pretty much endless! Every time I stock up on liquids it's the excitement of getting new flavours to try :) Yeah it took me a while to break the ritual, like rolling the first cigarette of the day while waiting for the kettle to boil and other ''triggers'' I guess is the right word. Just having a good go at the VP during the triggers has helped a lot and now I don't even think about them anymore. The habitual part of smoking I think is as bad as the nicotine dependency.

I never had an issue with the nicotine. It was the addiction to all the other junk in the analogs. From what I have researched concerning nicotine in the human body, it seems to be no better or worse that caffeine. The withdrawal symptoms for nicotine is the same as caffeine. I know most have not had time to get their caffeine in the morning and had the headaches that come with it. Once we realize what is going on we get a Coke or a cup of joe and all is good in a few minutes. Same with nicotine. I read in a thread yesterday that there are findings now that utilize nicotine for therapeutical treatments of certain conditions. I believe there are more adverse additives in the prepared foods we all partake in than a shot of nic in my PV?. As far as cutting down.....well I'm not there yet. What I have accomplished is not having a cig for over two months! That is a feat within itself. One that I am very proud of. It only took 35 years to get there! I believe I will try one day but what I have going right now suits me just fine. My :2c:

I don't want to relapse but at the same time I've made it so far I'm not sure what to do!

Whip out your PV and vape. Relapsing to analogs is is not the way forward, that little ....... is trying to kill you. You have come to the right forum though. You will find countless stories of how people have made the successful transition to vaping exclusively. It's just a much more pleasant experience all round :)

I totally understand needing something to distract you. Now that you are completely off nic I guess you will just have to decide if you want to keep vaping or not. After some time goes by the need to go back to nic can decrease or be gone and it will be easier to stop vaping then if that is what you want to do. I'm sure you have seen that everyone who has posted has a slightly different story to tell. I am sure that I could get off all nic and learn to adapt to a life without it, from a scientific/physical adaptability viewpoint but from a 30 year habit viewpoint it isn't always so easy. We all just do the best we can and vaping is so much better than going back to cigs.

I don't want to relapse but at the same time I've made it so far I'm not sure what to do!

Take it one day at a time. Congrats on giving up the smokes! I will always say this--it doesn't really matter what nicotine strength you use (0-36mg/ml) that was/is successful for you. It just matters that it works for YOU. Zero is working for you now--focus on that.

Do not worry about the hypothetical/future relapse. Should the urge creep up on ya, the good thing is that you do not have to pick up a pack of smokes and return to that nonsense--just pick up a small bottle of nicotine containing juice, at a strength that you think might work (6-12mg range would likely do it). Or if Blu is doin' for you, there's always a disposable to get you through the rough patch.

We're all a work-in-progress. Quitting smoking isn't an end--it's just a page in our storybook. Vape as long as you need, at whatever nic/no nic works. Good luck, and WELCOME to ECF!!!

I think I started at 18mg of nicotine when I quit smoking and started vaping. That was strong enough for me to not crave a cigarette, and that's what I needed! I slowly started to cut back my nicotine after that, I'm currently vaping liquids with nicotine amounts of either 12mg or 9mg, depending on the flavour I'm using. I keep slowly cutting it back and we'll see what happens, if I get to 0 nic and I feel like I still need it then I will just get the lowest nicotine level possible and I'll be happy with that. But right now, I still feel like I need my nicotine, no harm there. It's no worse than having my coffee everyday. I'm just glad I cut out all of the toxins that are in cigarettes!

McCrazy you are not McCrazy LOL. I started vaping using 6mg and went to 0mg on the 8th day. No withdrawal, no nothing negative at all. I was a smoker for 44 years. Zero mg in 8 days seemed unreal from all my reading too. I had already been off the analogs for 5 days when I found and joined this group. The advise of starting at 24 mg or 18 mg and tapering down didn't fit me as I had been on the 6mg for the 5 days already and was doing fine. I just decided to get some zero mg and see what happened. I was worried that I was setting myself up for failure but not now. I have no desire to smoke analogs I easily go hours and hours without vaping if I am busy. What I missed was the ritual part like after a meal, etc.... I had no plans to quit I just did it. I vape with an Itaste VV 3.0 with a Protank Mini and finally found my favorite juices. My puff counter is at 60 and I have been up since 8am. It is now 2pm. I wouldn't worry. Some people need/want the nic, some don't. We are just in the category of the don'ts :) Just my :2c:

First of all congratulations McCrazy on your wonderful success:toast: your question is obviously a great one and is getting many great responses. It's great to have you on the ECF! Nicotine! oh how I do love nicotine:hubba: For me it's all about the nicotine. And with vaping the thing I love so dearly has become so much more enjoyable. Tons of great flavors, great TH, new devices to experiment with, a great community to share stuff with(I love you ECF) and just all sorts great health benefits and me not so stinky any more. I vape 36mg and don't even like to get 24mg unless I have to. But if I do then I'm still good with that, just go through it faster is all. super stoked to get post number 150 talking about how I love nicotine! Look forward to seeing you around McCrazy. Keep kickin ....:vapor:
