What do you mean by: "I tasted it?" Does this mean you placed the liquid concentrate directly onto your tongue?
If it does... PLEASE stop! It is reckless
and completely uninformative. Depending on the nicotine concentrate strength, and your own body's sensitivity, it can even be potentially harmful. Without the concentrate being in a diluted vapor state; there is no useful information to be had. So, just... just stop.
This seems very similar to a previous thread of yours (
DIY Help ?). If you are trying to evaluate throat hit (TH); you would be much better served, by mixing up a small batch (5mL or even less) of unflavored e-liquid and then
vaping it. Mix it to your preferred nicotine strength, and PG/VG ratio (
don't add flavoring to this mix). Doing
this will give you and realistic idea of what sort of TH to expect.
As for testing your nicotine; there is no DIY test (that I am aware of), that will tell you if it is nicotine or not nicotine.
Nicotine test kits, like those offered by Wizard Labs, e-cig express, and others; work
only on unflavored, freebase nicotine... and will only tell you how much freebase nicotine is available. It will
not work on mixes containing nicotine salts or flavoring. (In other words; if you were to buy a nicotine that was sold a
Xmg/mL, and you wanted to check if it was more or less than
Xmg/mL... a nicotine test kit would help you determine that.)
The only way to determine what is (and isn't) in your concentrate, that
I can think of, is to send it off to a professional laboratory. And, that will likely be cost prohibitive. Here is just one example:

If you are not even certain if you are getting nicotine in your nicotine concentrate; I would strongly suggest you choose a different source (and
please stop tasting your nic

). Even if you live in a region that is not vaper friendly; there are
reliable sources. It will take some effort on your part to find them... but they are out there. Talk to other vapers. Don't expect online public discussions to provide them; as this alerts authorities where to clamp down. Instead, use private messaging and private e-mails to find the best sources.
Stay safe; and I wish you luck.
