all,
sub-ohm vaping got me off cigarettes. had tried previously...nothing was satisfying enough. since i stopped smoking (95 days) my clouds have got bigger, mods more numerous and tanks seem to multiply (nothing new there, right?).
i have a gap in my requirements i realise. a high nic, low vapour, producer for very certain occasions (i'm not giving up my clouds and flavour thing).
i know opinions are many and different things work for different people but what do you use for such situations?
cheers.
and, no...never going back to cigarettes. ever.

If you just need it for stealth purposes or going out I'd suggest an inexpensive setup like one of the pico starter kits, or maybe a T22 or T18 setup (though, those are fixed wattages and you may want to go lower to stealth vape) or even a zelos/Nautilus 2 mod (probably the 50 watt) and really you may find any one of those kits on sale somewhere quite inexpensively. Since you are mostly looking for a backup mod but sometimes an "out and about" mod, I'm not sure I'd go lower in quality, though others may have other suggestions, also.

Yup, something like a Nauti 2 or Triton mini can do a nice mtl high nic vape solution. You can also try something like a Super tank which takes Atlantis style coils, so you could get full size Triton 1.8 ohm coils for when you want to "dial it down" but still have a tank that can take a nice subohm coil as well. Not as single purpose limited like a Nauti would be.

It's great. Just have to keep the PG around 30+, little silica wick. The only con I give it is the tiny fill plug. If that thing escapes your fingers, just kiss if goodbye. I keep the old plugs for extra. It's vapable just about anywhere with holding the vapor in a little extra time. Of course being 10 dollars, it's a lightweight plastic that feels almost disposable. I've had it for months and use it often.

Not chosen for its overall stealthiness, but considering its small size may I recommend my daily regulated mod - the JAC Vapour Series B DNA 75.

A single battery regulated mod, Evolv DNA chipset for 75 watts. I use a Crown 1 subohm tank, but I have used the smallish clone of the Kabuki (not a subohm tank) on it; also used a couple different RDA's on it. The Aspire Nautilis X is a shorty tank that I would consider stealthy.

very little vapour with 50/50 12mg. roughly.

I use a Vaporesso Aurora with 66/33@18nic from Mister E Liquid. I keep it in my pocket every day at work. It looks like a Zippo. Holds 1.2 mls. Only uses 1.4 Ohm ceramic atomizers (which are awesome). Has a 650 mAh battery. USB port for recharge. Lasts about as long as a half a pack of cigs used to. Stealth vape like a bandit on that thing and it will last through all of my breaks if I need it to. I bought the very simple looking one with a stainless steel look, and it now looks exactly like a Zippo that has been banging around in my pocket forever with my keys and my spare change. There are now many stylish and colorful versions available. You should be able to buy one for less than $30. I got mine for $25.

This is from weeks and weeks ago. It looks even more like a beat up Zippo now.

oddities with firefox and fasttech (ended up using canary) but a vaporesso aurora has been purchased. thanks, everyone. as always.

You might want to look around for a good price on atomizers while you are waiting. Also, make sure you prime the atomizers for a really long time. They are ceramic and they take a long time to initially soak up the juice. When mine starts to taste a little off I'll change out the atomizer before I go to bed and fill it up so it can soak while I'm asleep. Once you break in the atomizer try to never let your tank run dry. I think I've had mine since the end of this last April and I've been through five atomizers, on the sixth one now. None of them ever stopped working but they just didn't give such a strong flavor that I had become used to. This device was my bridge back to MTL vaping so I used it quite a bit for the first few months. I eventually got some other MTL set ups with bigger tanks and better batteries but I still take it to work every day.
