I am using a Nitecore Digi D2 dual battery charger to charge my Efest 18490 Li-MN 3.7v batteries. I've only used it one time before and both of my batteries just died so I put them into the charger and its not showing anything it says 0:00 for charge time 0mah and it says my batteries are at 3.5V but they won't work in my mod so they're obviously dead. The first battery slot says its charging normal but it's been on the charger for 24hrs and it says that it's still at 3.5V. The second slot doesn't even recognize a battery. I've tried everything from unplugging it and plugging it in, taking the batteries out and letting it dry run and reset but nothing's working.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a charger problem? Or a battery problem?

Did you mess with the MODE switch at all? You don't want to and don't need to for these type of batteries. If you push and hold the MODE switch you may have put it into LiFePO4 charging mode - which might explain it stopping at 3.5 volts.

Best to start over. It should revert to the default settings if unplugged and plugged back in. Only press the SLOT button to switch the display from one battery slot to the other one. Fast presses of the MODE button will cycle between time, current and voltage - but since the display will do that anyway it's best to leave the MODE button alone. If you don't you can land on the wrong charge setting for Li-On batteries.

If that doesn't work out then you probably have a crapped charger - which happens a lot with Nitecore. This is an overly complicated charger trying to do too many things and usually none of it all that great. Like the MODE switch functions.

Xtar or Pila. An Xtar comes with a 2 year warranty if purchased from a dealer. Last I looked they had the VP1 on sale right at www.xtardirect.com for $24.90 and the VP2 for $29.90 xtardirect ships international.

If you won't be charging 26650 size stick with the simpler VP1 for up to 18650 size. You need a VP2 though to fit 26650 batteries.
