Nitecore D2 Problem

Hello fellow vapors I wish I could post this thread into the batteries and charger forum but I'm new so I can't post in there so I apologize in advance.

I ordered a Nitecore D2 charger off ebay and received it 10 days ago and it was working fine,charging my 2 Sony 18650 VTC4 2100mah batteries in it daily until yesterday it stopped working. When I would unplug it then re plug it it would only work for about a min and then I would see "D2" on the LCD screen and it would be stuck for about a few mins then it would shut off.

I tried charging only one battery,same deal.
I tried using a different 7A 125v AC plug,same deal.
I tried using a universal ac adapter into the car charger slot,same deal.

It's weird because when I would let the charger sit for 20 mins it would work like normal but the device just deliberately shuts itself off. I can't make out much from the instructions since it's all in chinese and german so I'm thinking without realizing it I activated some mode that is triggering this and I've googled the crap out of this problem and it seems like I'm the only person in the world with this issue so I'm at a lost on what to do.

Please help me!

Guessing you can't return it. I would just buy a new one from a reputable dealer. I've had problems with good chargers, reputable chargers. Had a good one that ran like a charm for six months the suddenly heated up to the very hot point. Had a year warranty but the seller, a very reputable dealer, refused to honor the warranty because they weren't the ones that made it. Got another that came highly recommended and it was a dud out of the box. The third one is running beautifully but I'm always in the room with it when it's charging should something go wrong. It's not worth skimping money on something that can burn your hour house down or vent in your face. Even the good guys turn out duds once in a while, unfortunately. Wondering if yours was a counterfeit perhaps. Anything to make a buck thee days.

Not familiar with your charger, so no help here. Have you contacted the seller? They may have had other customers report the same issue.

I'm a large seller on eBay. Open a return item case against the seller. You may need to pay for shipping fees to return it (Use USPS First Class Package). The seller will send you a new one to keep his rating up - negatives blow sellers away.

I suppose. I contacted the seller I brought this charger to see if they could offer me a replacement so I'm awaiting word on that my other option is to contact nitecore themselves but they are based in China and for me to ship the charger to them for repair I'm more than sure even though I should be good on warranty the shipping costs would far exceed the price of the device itself. My main option it seems like to buy another charger do you or anyone have any recommendations on what charger I should buy instead? Something North American based preferably for easy customer support.

Interesting, I can't open any of Nitecore's pages. I think they do have a US office so you wouldn't have to mail it to China. I also can't find the name of a specific seller I was thinking of, naturally. Any reputable seller (mine didn't but that was six months down the road from when I bought it) should stand behind what they sell. Sending this back to the top for somebody with a better memory than mine to answer.

Well I just brought an Efest luc v2 from a local shop. I got a reply from the seller in which he will replace the faulty D2 but it's a bit of a process (gotta get in contact from nitecore whenever their site is back up to acquire a replacement receipt) so at one point I will have 2 chargers the more the merrier. Thanks for the help guys!

I avoid eBay nowadays. Good for some things but mostly crooks and counterfeit going on Flea bay. Not saying don't use Ebay. Just my preference. Hope you get sorted out though. God Bless!

Reputable company. I have bought a few of these. Hard to beat the price to. Good place for batteries to.

Have you tried pressing the MODE/SLOT button on the D2 side. I have no idea why it would stop the charger from working but.... The link above shows a D4 with the display showing 'D4'.
