hi there. Is my nitecore going bad if it takes 6+ hours to charge a newer 30q? I never noticed it taking that long before. However I will add my new device drains down to 3.4 where as my old device just under 3.7. Thanks.

3.0v to 3.2v is a normal range for battery cutoff in a mod. If you are charging a single battery in the D4 it will provide 375mA to 4 batteries or 750mA if you are charging 2 batteries at once. 3000 MAH batteries take a while to charge if the charge current is less than 1A.

Was this a single cell charge or were there more batteries in the bays at the time? I charge at 1A in my Efest LUC 4. In my XTAR VCT4 things happen slower because it can only charge the two outer bays at 1A. 4 cells get .375A charge rates.

At this point there were two. I guess what struck me is usually after four hours with four batteries in it reads ALL (charged). I know that the 30q's take longer. Maybe it's normal. I've never been impressed with the battery cutoff in my kanger nebox. Too bad the damn thing holds 10ml. My new Al85 cuts off around 3.4. Thinking about upping to the Alien dual. Recently bought 2 pairs of new LG Browns. Thinking about saving those to marry for that.

My nitecore is going on 1 year old.

That's when mine started charging slower, with the same type of batteries..

I threw mine out when it started charging slower, because I figured that battery safety included charger safety, so I just got a new one and threw the old one out.

For the price, I thought it was better to be safe than sorry.

The only equation I don't know, is how much longer your new batteries should take..so I guess I cannot say definitively - but it took mine a year to start acting wonky, and I never changed type of batteries I was charging.

I charge various quality 18650's. Samsung, Sony and LG. You recommend another nitecore or is there a better four bay charger?
