Ok so I bought the I2 after seeing some reviews on how it made a decent charger. I ordered one from amazon about three weeks ago and everything has been going fine up until three days ago. I notcied my efest 18650 was taking a little longer to charge so I pulled it off the charger and it was 4.4 volts. It wasn't hot or anything nor was the charger but the charger didn't seem to register that it was fully charged. I figured ok well before I blame the charger let me try another battery so I used another efest ( backups btw) and it after about three hours it was at 4.3... Since I've gotten these batteries I've always recharged at 3.7 volts and when the charger said it was done it would give me a reading of 4.21 for the most part. Do I need a new charger because I'm not sticking my vct4's on this until I know what's going on. Someone mentioned on another thread that it could be a faulty multimeter but I'm ruling that out as of now I've been using this for about two years with no issues and no issues with my new hobby up until recently.

Any help will be appreciated.

I believe that your particular charger may have some issues with it's "smart charging" circuitry. You could get another i2 charger and it should work as designed.

I have both the i2 and i4 Nitecore chargers myself. I periodically check the voltage of my batteries coming out of both chargers with the voltage meter in my Provari's and they always read 4.2 volts.

I wouldn't rule out a faulty multi meter. I have one that used to work fine until recently when it showed my battery as 4.4 volts. I had to switch it off on and again before it measured the correct voltage.

Not saying that there's nothing wrong with your charger, but just throwing out ideas. Try taking several readings, switching the multi meter off and on again between readings.

I've read on those and I understand that the cost is worth it but I don't have 40 bucks to drop on a charger i just spent money on eliquid (gremlin) so yeah...Trying to stay under 25 for now it's not long term just for a few weeks.

You don't have to get the VP1 in the Xtar line. The WPII 2 will do nicely for 20 bucks.

This is the second Nitecore problem reported here in the last 4 hours...

I can get the i4 for 18 bucks with prime on amazon and its four bay so it might be worth it.

And why would you want to do that if you are already wondering if one Nitecore isn't working right? You can buy what you want, but I don't understand why people love these chargers when they seem to have a pretty crappy quality control record. You don't see thise kinds of complaints about Pila and Xtar chargers:

I tossed a cheap meter in the trash yesterday because it was showing an efest 18650 battery had charged to 6.4 volts. I grabbed another cheap meter that showed the battery at 4.1 volts. While I have a varity of commercial type meters to choose from, they're not really made for accurate measuring of low voltages.

I consider the cheap meters to be accurate for the most part and especially disposible.
