I saw an njoy NPro two weeks ago at a local gas station. I was intrigued and bought one to try out. Three days later I was smoke-free, and enjoying the freedom and health benefits of e-cigs.

But one thing I've noticed is that my NJoy leaks like a planter. It leaks from the air holes on either side of the vaporizer (I call it "crying" since it leaves little tears wherever I lay it down). And it leaks from the mouthpiece sometimes.

Is this common? I'm concerned for several reasons.

First, the e-liquid is not meant to be ingested, and when it leaks from the mouthpiece when I'm drawing off of it, the liquid gets in my mouth and gets subsequently swallowed. It's not a lot, but it still concerns me.

Second, the tears freak me out, since I have a three-year-old daughter running around the house. While I don't leave my PV where she can ever get to it, if there are tears left over from where it was sitting, I don't want her to get any one her or god forbid in her mouth...8-o

Lastly, I really don't need this stuff leaking on documents at work (or onto my desk where docs might get laid down at some point), nor do I want this stuff leaking in my shirt or pants pocket (no good carrying case for RN4081 models that I can see).

Does anyone know a way to stop the leaking? I've read on here that this isn't uncommon when you're filling your own carts. But the stock carts from NJoy do it just as badly as the ones I've refilled with JC juice (and I always sop up any excess after refilling).

Thanks.

Hi,

I dont own the particular ecig you speak of, but leakage is fairly common to a lot of ecigs.

I personally treat my ecig with the same respect I would a lighted cigarette.

I always have 'fresh wipes' or baby wipes etc around, and never lie my ecig down on a table etc. I have a container where it can stand upright, and away from small hands.

When I go out, I have a carry case that came with my particular ecig, which clips into my handbag, so I just slip the ecig in there upright and there is no concern about juice seeping anywhere.

The Njoy RN4081 has many problems and inconsistencies. There are all sorts of rituals and tricks you must go through to get the thing to work somewhat. You can search the forum and find a subforum that will help you.

My advice is get a MANUAL switch PV and most of your problems will go away. They are much more consistent, reliable and produce better throat hit/feel of the real thing because you control how warm the atomizer gets. I would suggest either the Joye510 or the MANUAL (not regular or auto) DSE901. Here are some reputable suppliers:

Rocky Mountain Vapor you have reached the mountain top of electronic cigarettes! : Home
Heaven-gifts.com Ruyandirect.com Best E-smoking Shop
www.eastmall.net - Eastmall International Co.,Ltd
e-Smokey Treats - Electronic Cigarette's, The healthy alternative to traditional tobacco cigarette's

BTW, 99% of us all buy on-line from suppliers and get very good and safe service and that includes the suppliers in China as well as the US. 99% of all PV's (personal vaporizers) come from China.

Wow - That's a lot of leakage. The only thing I can think of is;

1. Too much juice in carts.
2. Drawing too fast & hard.

Try blowing out the atomizer. Puff a couple times until the vapor starts to decrease. Fill a cart, but don't let the juice puddle on top. Try it again with a lighter draw.

As for your carry question, Eye glasses case or Dart case is what I use.

I have a Blu Cig starter kit on the way (ordered it mainly for the awesome little PCC and small size), but that'll take ten years to ship, so I also ordered a manual Titan 510 from Totally Wicked, which I believe is the same as the Joye 510, which includes a PCC as well (though not as cool as the Blu from the looks of it, and it doesn't actually house an assembled PV). The 520 should arrive Monday or Tuesday.

My issue is probably a combination of the RN4081 design (doesn't get rave reviews on here), and the fact that I draw dpp and hard off the thing to try to get some sort of throat hit equivalent to what I used to get with smoking analogs, which never actually seems to happen). Maybe, as you folks have said, the 510 will help (gets great reviews, and I can't wait for it to arrive).

As far as an eyeglasses case for carrying it, that's brilliant! Hadn't though of that. I use a hearing aid case to carry extra carts and batts, which works perfectly and fits nicely in my pants pocket without creating an embarrassing bulge. But I have been looking for something to actually carry the assembled PV in, and I'll still need that once the 510 arrives.

Thanks so much.

I get eyeglass cases at the dollar store, and glue in some foam. Cut with an Exacto knife, and insert your e-cigs. Mine are large enough for a couple of cartridges, 2 atomizers, and a 3ml bottle of juice too.

Thanks. That sounds like a winner. I'll have to run to Wally World tomorrow and pick up the stuff I need and give that a shot. :)

Cheaper if you have a Dollar Store / Dollar Tree / 99 cent Store in the area. I pick up a few in case I make a mistake on one. Just throw it away and start over.

The thing with the NPro has been touched on, it's very important to remember two things: do not over-fill the carts, if they look puddled, you'r filling them too full.
Second, do not puff on the NPro or any other e-cig with hard puffs. Take very long, gentle pulls, or even a light pull (just enough to light the light) then a second pull again pull just hard enough to light the light, as long as you can comfortably pull. This is the secret that shouldn't be a secret, long gentle pulls gets the atomizer as hot as it can get to fully vaporize the liquid hitting it. If you pull too hard you are pulling more juice from the cart than the vaporizer can vaporize it, and you get a flooded atty and/or juice popping into your mouth or lips. If you hear a gurgling sound, take the atty off, blow out the excess liquid which has pooled in there.Keep batteries charged, attys unflooded. You'll get a very high quality vape from these devices. The cartridge will only hold about 5-6 drops of juice. Keep the wicking clean, or change carts, start off with a new one when the taste is "off".

So I just got in a few flavored liquids from Liquidxpress.com. I decided to follow the instructions in Spikey's Intro video for removing the filler from the cart, rinsing it with hot water, then squeezing it dry in a paper towel. I wanted to ake sure the nasty-tasting liquid that comes in the NJoy pre-filled carts was completely out.

Once I'd followed those steps and put fresh liquid in from Liquidxpress, I haven't had the leaking problem so far. I wonder if the problem has something to do with the NJoy liquid...?

By the way, the "Spicy Ice" flavor is something else. Gives one heck of a throat hit, even from the little NPro!

Thanks Kate. That's very helpful.

I always wondered what that gurgling sound was and how to stop it.

One of the problems I've run into was that one of my batteries seems to have a defective switch, as it takes a really hard draw to even activate the thing. I've been going very gentle with the other today, and have noticed much less liquid--actually none since I cleaned out the filler and put fresh liquid in.

By the way, does anyone know where I can get empty carts for the NPro? I know the DSE103 are the same size, but was told when I went to order some that they will not work with the NPro because the atty is proprietary. I need some plain old fresh carts for this thing til I get my new devices in. And I would like to keep it as a backup. Besides, it will be my only one that actually looks like a real cigarette, which is great for the shock factor...

Mister_me, the NPro was my first e-cig, the start of my banner below! I didn't have someone to tell me not to pull so hard. I didn't know about ECF then, but then again when I did find it I spent about a month just reading, toooo much!
But the juice in those things was awful, and three hours after I got it, was going to have a cigarette, it was worse! Halleluhia, I said, it was the "clean" that impressed me so much. No more cigarettes after that, so have a soft spot for them.
I even made the mistake of blowing into the mouth piece to get rid of the "gurgle" sound? So, don't do that. I blew juice right into the battery and it went berserk, burned itself out, along with the atty as well. I learn the hard way sometimes. Took almost two weeks to get the replacement, so I used a cheapie 103 for awhile. I learned!

Mike - you may wish to look into the threads on Lipton Pyramid Tea Bags. Haven't tried it on my NJOY, but can't imagine it wouldn't work. Just pull out the material in the cart and replace it with the Lipton Pyramid Tea Bag material and if it's like my other units it'll draw better, easy to wash out and dry and they'll last...uh..forever I suppose.

I don't have an nPro, so can't comment on their juice, but as you mentioned you were topping off with JC, did want to note something on that. I have bought juice from over a dozen suppliers. The only one I had any leaking issues with was JC because of how thin/watery it is. You may want to order from TW or one of the others and see if you have the same problem.

You're not kidding about the NJoy juice..The Menthol isn't that bad (but not really my thing), but their "Regular" flavor tastes like overly-salted stale potato chips, and leaves a horrible aftertaste. The Vanilla and Apple are pretty vile as well. The only one that I could stand (besides the spearminty menthol) was the Strawberry, but at $2 per cart, it wasn't saving me any money over the long-haul (I went through 4 or 5 carts a day).

My experience was about the same. I still had a full pack at home when I bought my NPro. I regularly smoked between 2 and 3 packs a day of Marlboro Blend No. 27, but it took me almost 3 days to get through my last pack because I dreaded it so much after vaping for just a few hours. I still crabe an analog every once in a while, but I keep reminding myself that it will taste horrid, and that seems to work.

I've spent hours on this site over the past couple of weeks, reading everything I could to get a better handle on this whole vaping thing. In fact, it was positive review after positive review on here of the Joye510 that led me to purchase my Titan from Wicked.

I read that somewhere else on here as well. I'll have to look and see if I can find some of that stuff and give it a try.

Thanks!

I'm definitely seeing far less leakage using the Liquidxpress juices (which I noticed on dripping are much, much thicker than the JC stuff). Hopefully this will solve at least some of my problems until my 510 arrives.

Thanks.
