One of my three Protank 2s doesn't have any airflow on my eVic or MVP v1.5. It works great on my VTR.

:headscratch:

I visually compared the airholes on the 510 threading with one that works fine, and could not see a difference. Is it possible that the coil head somehow could be to blame? Are there any known issues with the Protank bases that could be responsible?

I hate to change out a perfectly good coil to test that theory, and would hate to change out the base to test THAT theory, so I thought I would ask the experts on ECF.

Thanks,

;)

Check the rubber grommet/post-insulator on the bottom of the coil head to ensure that it isn't compressed and flaring out, that would block airflow and cause the issue you are describing. If it is, you can pull the bottom pin out a little bit and try reseating the grommet correctly. Be careful not to knock the coil legs out of position when doing so, though, as it sounds like you're not rebuilding those (yet).

I wondered about that as well, but I don't own any of those devices (totally jealous of your VTR right now though) so I don't really have a definitive answer for you. It may be completely unrelated to the grommet, but it's the first thing I think of when somebody reports blocked airflow with a protank.

Edit: One other thing you could try is unscrewing it just a little bit from the device, apparently the 510 air holes don't line up quite right on some devices when tightened all the way down.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. I never tighten my devices any further than just a little past the first feeling of resistance when electrical contact is made. I don't remember when I changed the coil on that particular protank, but I think I remember using it on my eVic at some point in the past.

It just doesn't make sense to me......
