Maybe you lucked out and they got lost...
The best way to remove them non-violently is to warm them up first. Somebody uses a hair-dryer, just read about it here, I think. I wrap them in a single layer of aluminum foil (to keep water from getting inside) and hold the mouth end of the carto (with the kitchen tongs, they get hot) in just-boiled water, ca. 210 degrees F, (100 C for you) for just under a minute. Then grab whatever you have handy--a small crochet needle, a tiny screwdriver, a fork (hi, Belle!) and gently pry the endcap up and out of the carto sleeve. If it resists, dunk it again. This way you'll be able to remove the cap and the nasty glue used to hold it in place. And if you saved some of the rubber end caps from your previous batch of Turbos, just use those in place of the hard ones. Good luck!
