So I've been DIYing for a month now and I've noticed after about the second batch or so (out of 6), there has been little to no flavor in my juices coming thru.

All my recipes start with:

48mg VG Nic base targeted to 3mg
15ml batch size
80VG 20PG Ratio
12% Flavor 1 (I've used Blueberry or Peach or Strawberry here)
8% Flavor 2 (I've used sweet cream here)

Steep for 1 week, 24hrs open bottle with cotton at top then shut for the next 6 days.

Should I be refrigerating my flavors, nicotine, PG and VG? I've been keeping all my supplies in a cabinet, room temperature.

Steeping imo should not be done with an open bottle. I only do that if I'm getting a chemical/alcohol smell. Two other things come to mind
1. I only use 2-3% of cream when I'm using it as a complimentary flavor. I usually don't use more than 10% of fruit as my main flavor.
2. Did you try the juices after you finished mixing them. I always try them after mixing, how else would you know how they changed after steeping. I'm more of a shake and vape kind of guy.

PS I've never had to leave one of my DIY mixes uncapped, only a few store bought juices that were disgusting! Good luck on your DIY Adventure! :toast:

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks Steve,

I have tried my juices after mixing and had little to no flavor :( I'll try lowering my complimentary flavors and also closed cap steeping.

I've also noticed that the smell of my flavors has diminished significantly from when I first opened them. Do flavors typically have a shelf life? I'm starting to think I got a bad batch from WL?

Also, I have been trying to use less PG in my mixes which I know dulls down flavor, but wondering if I should start mixing in some distilled water to help carry flavor will avoiding a higher percentage of PG?

Thanks once again for the reply

What kind of equipment are you using. I sometimes have that problem when my batteries are too weak. The coils in your tank/carto might also be the curlpit if they are clogged or past their useful life.

Batteries are freshly charged always. Tried on my Provari and Nemi, both with Sony VTC4's. For my RDA's I have an Atomic and Patriot both have single wrapped 28G wires around cotton. Averaging around 1.4-1.5 ohms for both.
