I'm sure you don't really want to hear this, OP, but I'll say it anyway: It wasn't till I'd been cig free for about 9 months that I really started to taste juices fully. Before that it was just hints of flavor here and there - very frustrating!

My advice to you is to try dripping, which is something I wish I'd thought of at the time. I now realize that tanks, cartos and clearos tend to mute flavor somewhat, whereas drippers really jazz it up.

:)

Good luck.

Kropotkin,

I don't know if your revelation upset the OP but I sure as heck don't like it. I am only at six months AND then their is always my age to add to lower sense of taste. Gee... when I write it out it makes it even more painful. The price I have to pay for 55 years of pretty heavy smoking and "Getting Older" to boot.

Now that I am thru crying in my beer I have experience what the OP has experienced only in my case indirectly. He compared a small order from HHV to a large order of the same stuff and the second bottle had NO flavor. For me it has been reviews VS my experience. I am not disagreeing with your "slow to recover ones sense of taste" actually I have been wondering about that for some time now. I posted someplace else that I had quit smoking when I was younger not for very long but I digress. When I quit those times my smell and taste came racing back but this time I am very aware that my sense of smell is still really poor (better but poor) my sense of taste I only noticed that was not up to par when I started trying some of the flavored juices. The Tobacco juices tasted OK but now I am beginning to think I am just fooling myself because God only knows what the Tobacco juices would taste like if my tongue worked.

I actually got off the point I was trying to make. I ordered from HHV "Georgia Peach Tobacco" and while it didn't have any peach flavor to me it did have some taste, maybe the tobacco. So I ordered "Just Peachy" (just a peach flavor no tobacco). What I tasted was nothing but it did concern me because all I experienced was a chemical throat burning sensation like maybe there was alcohol in the mix anyway after reading the OPs post I wonder if it is me or is HHV doing something or missing something in their "Mixology" techniques.

OK - Kropotkin, I'll quit. I am rambling so bad I don't even remember the point I was trying to make. But the thought of at least another 3 to 6 months for my tongue to heal in pretty depressing.

Funny, I have HHV's cherry bomb, georgia peach tobacco and just peachy, they are three of my favorites along with several other HHV's offerings. Show's once again how different people's taste can differ so much. I tried Roar and ahlusion based on things I read and had the same experience you are having with HHV. A lot of folks swear by them but just not for me. Hang in there, you'll find a vendor that hits your spot. I too spent a lot of dough buying different juices from different places. It's frustrating I know, but it sure beats cigarettes.

I'm sorry. :( But I know what you mean.

Have you tried minty or spicy flavors - like spearmint or gingerbread or cinnamon, maybe? A lot of people seem to like those, and they might help while away the time while your taste buds recover.

SpicyMcHaggis,

For sure better than smoking !!!

But darn it is not fair those three HHV flavors you listed sound like they would be heaven on earth besides I hate it when I can't have what I want. ;)

I still have the Cherry Bomb and Georgia Peach Tobacco setting on the shelf. Have you noticed any improvement with age (steep)?

The Just Peachy I had I mixed with some other stuff I had trying to make it not a total loss. But whatever the deal was with the "Just Peachy" I really don't think it was all me. It was like smoking the stuff Halo sell called "fusion" (I think that is what they call it) anyway it is just PG/VG and Nicotine. the Just Peachy was like that only maybe with a little alcohol in it i.e. the burning sensation in my throat. I really think HHV did something wrong with it and I have heard of a couple of cases where people have had that happen sent it back and HHV owned up to it and made it good.

I wish I hadn't mixed the "Just Peachy" and sent it back. Not necessarily for compensation but rather to have them check it so I would know if it was ME or THEM.

Short story - I still have some HHV "Legend" and I really like it so for the time I am good.

Kropotkin,

I think I will give your suggested flavors a try. I like those flavors I just had my heart set on Cherry or Peach. I did try a few puffs on some "Tart Apple" at the local smoke shop and that flavor came thru just fine. From my looking around most vendors have an apple something in their list so I will probably give that a try also.

And if it takes another six months to get my smell and taste back I will be thankful that it returned if not I'll just vape a lot of tobacco flavors which I can still taste thank goodness.

PS - I was very content with the tobacco flavors I have been using. Just got a wild hair to try something different and then got mad when it wouldn't work for me. Ugh!

I was really the same. In fact the only thing I could taste for months was cinnamon type flavors or menthol. Didn't really taste anything. And I always ordered double or even triple flavorings.

Now I'm the opposite I like very little flavoring- I DIY and use probably half the percentage most people use.

You might even want to stick with unflavored for awhile so you don't waste money on a bunch of liquid you don't taste. It's really not bad at all - to me it tastes like a very mild cigarette. I vaped unflavored for awhile and just added a few drops of lemon flavoring. Sort of refreshing.

HolmanGT,

Tasty Vapor-Ultimate Vanilla, Lemon Poundcake(you really get the nice lemon flavor and great cake flavor as well), Banana Cream Pie, German Chocolate Cake(Fantastic!), Peach Cobbler, and there is cupcake flavor( I have tried plain, it's fantastic, but you can choose up to two different flavors to combine in that one.)

Kick Bass Vapor-OMG(Toffee taste, awesome!), ... (the joose)-A berry taste but other undertones that I cannot identify. An ADV for me. Pebble Path-(Rocky Road and it is good!) , Gooey Better Cake-awesome. Skipping Stones(Butterscotch)-really good. Hummingbird Nectar is really different and I mean in a good way! I have never had anything else like it.

I am slowly trying them all. I have White Rabbit(Coconut cake), Fiddle Faddle, and Carmel Cappacino on the way plus more OMg and Hummingbird Nectar. Those last two I will keep in my rotation.

Anyway, hope this helps. Both these vendors flavors are multi dimensional like you really get each ingredient such as the Gooey Better Cake, you get the butter, powdered sugar, cake flavor, it is really good.

Let me know what you think if you decided to try them.

Cindy

Kick Bass Cantaloupe is good- plus it's a pretty strong fruit flavor. Also good is the pineapple shake.

Caridwen,

Well it definitely seem like I am not alone in my ordeal of no taste. I think I may give your unflavored approach a try. and maybe pick up a bottle of DIY flavor like lemon or wintergreen. I am sure I can taste those and for a fact I know I can smell those two flavors.

Oh - HHV someplace on the site makes a comment about menthol helps bring out some flavors (???).

I think you will be able to taste the cantaloupe- it's a pretty strong flavor. Their liquid isn't the cheapest but it's pretty good.

Holman - Kick Bass makes a peaches and cream that is very nice. The peach is mellow but natural tasting, imho, and the cream is really nice with it. If you're looking for more of a slap you in the face, fresh, tangy peach, I would recommend Nicquid.

BooBoo,

Several people have suggested the KB peaches and cream BUT "slap in the face" sounds like what my taster needs. :) I am going to go check Nicquid right now.

Thanks

Take a look at Indigo OMG Peach, too. I know Indigo does very strong flavor, and I've heard it's a good one. I love Indigo but haven't tried their fruits and am not much of a peach lover but you might like it. Ihave tried their peach tobacco and it's a true peach flavor, but again, not much of a peach person. Unfortunately they don't do sample sizes though.

Well after steeping a few days its slightly better but still not even close to the flavor of the 30ml bottle of it i had before. Im kinda down about this if i would have know i would not have ordered a 100ml of it i would have ordered a 10ml. I love tobacco flavors and the last bottle was superb! I sent hhv a email weeks ago with no response about the blueberry not having any blueberry lol. I wonder if they would send me just the flavoring so i could add till it gets right? I am going to mail them again and if i get no reply within a few days it will be the last i order from them AS MUCH AS I LOVE IT. Thanks for the reply's guys.

Do you have any smaller bottles around? Transfer to smaller bottles and see if that helps with steeping.

I've found transferring from my 30ml cobalt blue glass bottles (great for long term storage) into 10 ml plastic bottles with syringe tops helps speed up the steeping process a bit. I didn't realize that larger volumes, cobalt or amber bottles, and/or cooler temperatures often equate to longer steep times. As I mentioned before, my FanceeJuice order (15ml cobalt bottles, I think 70pg/30vg, 16mg nic) took about 7 weeks to come around.
