clearly you're not married *lol* *currently at least* :pervy:

yeah I've had more than a couple of those "it's for me huh?" moments with Ed ..that's for sure:facepalm::lol:

 to clean tips!! :vapor:

Been Happily married for almost 30 years. We "share" everything. She is welcome to any of my crap and I am welcome to hers.
I realize the Original Post was meant as humor. So was my response. Kinda like the ribbing on such a comment you'd give to your PW'd BROTHER.

I buy vape stuff. My husband buys and collects coins. Neither of us get perturbed by what the other buys -- the lack of buying cigarettes has freed up an enormous amount of disposable income. He always bought them for me, no matter what, no matter how broke we were -- so I think it's only fair that we both benefit from the re-allocated cash.

I was just showing him an rba that I found for a good price, and kinda like; 'bout 15 mins later, he walked in here and asked, "so, did you order it?" I said, no, I'm still thinking about it -- because that's what I do, I'm never an impulse buyer; I have to roll it around in my mind for a while, analyzing it from every angle, getting comfy with the idea of trading X amount of dollars for it. He gave me a look like he was wondering if I had lost my mind. :D

my wifey does the same thing.... a box arrives and its "why are you wasting money on that stuff"... but when she buys new shoes Im supposed to say how pretty they are.... which leads to the 3 attys sitting in my holder that dont get too much use anymore... got fussed at for hardly ever using them.... so I took the defensive and asked her how many pairs of shoes she has and when was the last time she wore them.... she walked out of the room quietly....

Congrats on both counts, Andria, and  for telling it right! We're coming up on 44, and semi-bliss is a perfect description! Anyone who's looking for "happily ever after" needs to stay in the movies!!

My kids got me a $50 Amazon gift card for Father's Day, which was awesome. So, I ordered an ultrasonic cleaner - something I'd been meaning to buy for a long time and just had never gotten around to it. It arrived yesterday and when my wife saw me unboxing it, she was quizzical, wondering why I had spent my Father's Day gift card on such a thing.

I proceeded to explain to her how great it was for cleaning jewelry, eyeglasses, watch bands, etc. She praised my unselfishness for buying something not solely for my own benefit. She was even more pleased after running some of her jewelry through it.

Later in the evening, she walked into the kitchen and noticed the little ultrasonic cleaner whirring away. Curious as to its contents, she opened the lid and discovered a bunch of RDAs and drip tips. She looked at me, shook her head, and walked away muttering "I should have known".

I know EXACTLY how you feel.

My mom just had hip replacement surgery. I spent many days taking care of her while she was in the hospital, then in the rehabilitation center, and then even more at home. For the 3 weeks she was in the hospital and rehab I went to her house every day to take care of her cats, take care of the mail, and to just generally check up on the place and make sure everything was OK. Several times a week instead of going home to my family I went to the hospital after work just to spend time with her and make sure she wasn't feeling lonely or abandoned (My dad died last year).

Among the MANY things we discussed was my vaping. I'm the only one in the family who smoked tobacco and she was very supportive of me giving up that habit. We talked about how long it's been since I smoked, how much I've lowered my nicotine levels, how much money I saved, etc... Among all of the things we talked about one thing I said was that I was hoping to convince my wife to get me a new mod for either Fathers Day or my birthday which is next week. Well, last weekend when I stopped by to visit dear old mom had a surprise for me. She told me her gift for my birthday this year, and as a show of gratitude for everything I had done for her, she was going to buy me any ecig stuff I wanted up to $500.

A bright light shone from the sky, the gates of heaven opened, and I could swear I heard angels singing.

So, I started picking out everything I wanted. Surprisingly, I ran out of things to buy before I ran out of money. My wife had mentioned a few months back that she wanted a good backup for her mod (We have a backup, but it's not good) and she wanted something easier to carry than her SVD 2.0. I figured it wouldn't hurt to toss in an iStick 30W and a new tank for her while I was at it. The only question was, what color to get.

I wanted to keep all of this a surprise, but I wanted to get her what she wanted at the same time. Tried to figure out numerous ways of slipping the question into an otherwise normal conversation so she wouldn't notice. We're going out of town next week for a little vacation and heading to the beach while we're there. We were discussing what we needed to take and getting some pre-packing and preparations done, and I said "We need to remember to take the battery charger and batteries with us or you won't have a working ecig after the first day".

Her immediate response was "What are you buying?"

Happy Anniversary Adria..Ed and I are the same way..hey if *and I'm quoting Ed* "if that puts a smile on your face..you go get two of those motherscooters" (he didn't say scooters *lol*)

but what can you have? "whatever it is you want" ...it also makes you self govern as to how that's going to get paid for (bills are paid, house and cars paid for..sans the savings..here's what you've got left..kind of thing.

but policing another grown adult's spending especially a loved one is a recipe for disaster.

LOL. You need to tell that to my wife.

My previous car was an Infiniti G35. She liked the car but hated the gas mileage (22mpg on a good day) and the fact that it required Super Unleaded.

When I went to buy a new car she said "Buy what you want. I only have two limitations. It must get at least 30mpg and must be able to run on regular unleaded."

So, I came home with the Mustang in my avatar.

There hasn't been a day in the past 3 years that she hasn't complained about that. According to her it's too loud, the ride is too stiff, the back seat is too small to fit my 13 year old daughter and German Shepherd in when we go on trips so we always have to take her car, insurance costs too much, and I enjoy pressing down the gas pedal too often. She was even less impressed when I put a supercharger and new exhaust on it and lowered the suspension, making it even faster, louder, and more stiff. She swears she'll never let me buy another sports car.

So my plan for my next car is a Mercedes AMG. A 550hp 4 door sedan isn't a sports car, right?

Absolutely true. :D I'm just glad I married my best friend... so that now, with all the hot romantical stuff pretty much in the past... I've still got my buddy! :D Sometimes we bicker, and my mom gets annoyed, but she doesn't see how we rock along from day to day, pretty much completely in sync. I couldn't live without that man; he's the other half of ME. :thumb:

Thats so funny because I tried to talk my wife into buying one for herself. She is an all natural kinda girl, so I told her that the chemicals that she uses to clean her jewelry could not be possible good for her skin. I schooled her on what an ultrasonic cleaner is and she agreed. Then one evening she overheard a conversation between my father-in-law and I and well...

AMEN!

My wife and I were friends for 2 years before we started dating. Dated for 2 years before we moved in together. Lived together 3 years before we got married.

Celebrating our 15th Anniversary this October. She's not just my wife, she's my best friend. ... Even if we do piss each other off once in a while.

Oh yes, we seem to piss each other off pretty much daily. But it passes. :D The fact that both of us are well aware of is that nobody else would put up with either of us. My mother put it very well one time... "you two are so weird, you DESERVE each other!" Yes, mom, we do. :D
