No Idea; Tried Researching (May be just a Stereotypical newbie question forum)

Good day all!
I'm looking to buy a Halo Triton tank for a family member who is a smoking addict. I feel moderately informed in that I've done all I can to research the general things. However, since this family member travels often, I want to make sure that when I give him the kit, I give them everything he needs for a while.

As of now, I plan to buy the Halo Triton tank kit and a few hundred mL's of E Liquid. My plan is for it to last around 2-4 months before he needs extra items from online. But apparently, there are a few parts on the E Cig that need to be replaced? If anybody could please shed some light on these replaceable parts, I would be extremely grateful :).

Many thanks!

got to say if that is your idea(and its a good one!) here is what i would go for. then all you need to add is liquid and they are good to go for several months...2 batteries, charger,2 tanks, 5 extra coils and instructions at a price most anyone could afford, also the quality of the vape should leave any frustration out of the picture. Kanger Evod Starter Kit . as far as liquid is concerned.....post back with that persons fav flavors and i am sure we can help there also.. best of luck!

hey aprilnights2, welcome to ECF

I bet the Halo Triton Tank kit is a fine kit,
my only problem is that their threads are only there own
which limits you from using all the cool (cheaper) devices available out there...
then the price is more and I don't see what you are asking about, the replaceable coils, in the kit

this kit is tried and true ! cheaper AND complete with (5) coils as spares
then you get a free bottle of juice with purchase (over $15)
and then you could order more juice as you desire (no better price anywhere)

good luck

Yes the heads are what is replaced periodically because they get burnt up and start to taste bad after a while. Sometimes after a few days sometimes a week or more. Mostly depends on how much you vape and what juice you use. Definitely get extra heads. Another thing to think about would be a higher mah (mili-amp hours) rating. Higher mah means you can use the device longer between charges. The halo kits (from a few seconds of looking) seem to only to go to 650 mah. I would look for maybe a 1000 mah battery. Especially if they'll be on the road and may not have an opportunity to charge the battery very often.

Hello all!
Thank you so much for the quick responses!
The only problem I have with Kanger EVOD was the fact that I have no idea if EVOD has the same "strength" as Halo Triton. The family member I was referring to is a medium to heavy smoker. Would the EVOD suffice? Many thanks.

PS: Has anyone ordered from Flavorpuff.com? How was it?

The EVOD and the triton look similar. My wife has a protank which is coil replaceable. Most bottom coil replaceable tanks are similar as far as vape production goes. The thing that will make the biggest difference is the battery. If the battery is variable voltage you can turn a dial on the bottom to increase or decrease the voltage. With these you can dial in the right voltage to suit your taste. If it's just a regular battery, it will most likely be a 3.7 volt battery. Which isn't bad, just might not produce as much vapor if the head you use has a higher ohm rating (the amount of resistance of the wire.) Usually there are a few different preset ohm ratings of heads: 1.8, 2.4 and 3.2. The lower usually run hotter and have more vapor which a lot of people I know enjoy. But the lower will make the battery need to be charged more often.

Have not ordered from that site. Hope someone can help you there...

T2 is a "Top Coil" style

the EVOD is Kanger with bottom coil design (bcc) on a 650 mah battery

- Kanger eVod bottom coil clearomizer - Black

I agree - stick with an ego battery, like an Evod or Joytech. Also, the 1000mah batteries are longer and may make someone new self-conscience about using it in public. They will last longer on one charge though. I started with a 650 battery, and quickly upgraded to 3 1000mah batteries that I rotate using/charging, I chain vape all day and can go through 1 and 1/2 of these batteries every day. Whatever mah rating you get, just get two batteries - there's nothing that can make someone light up a cigarette faster than having a dead battery on the charger!

That Evod Kit from Mt Baker is a very good deal.

Figure about 1 head a week (although I have have them last for a month). Most likely the current tanks already have a head in them, so with the five extra in the kit, he should be set for at least seven weeks.

If you want to keep him in juice for the same amount of time, figure 30ml per week is generous average. I have never bought Mt. Baker juice, but many people love it and it is very affordable. Get a variety. Just pay attention to the note on the bottom of the Evod Starter Kit page where they talk about the types of juice you should NOT buy with this kit.

Don't fret too much about the perfect purchase - he'll know pretty quickly if he likes it or not, and if so he'll be doing his own upgrading and juice hunting before long.

If they are a medium to heavy smoker I would consider getting a innokin vv/vw v3 or a MVP they have pass thru capacity vape while charging and they can dial up there voltage to there liking also get a pro tank mini or a reg pro tank 2 and extra coils they can be bought at mount baker vaper and use ve10 to get 10% off

Hello all,
I'm ready to make my purchase, but something on the product page threw me off. What is Blend for E Liquids? (100% PG, 50% PG 50% VG, etc)?

EDIT: I assume I couldn't just buy 1000mah batteries and put them into the Kanger EVOD right? As in I would need to buy a 1000mah battery part for the EVOD (is this part called the "cartomizer"?). Sorry for the overload of questions! I just want to get this right :(

The Evod clearomizer (topper) will use about any combination of PG/VG. I use 60%/40% in mine, but everyone has their own preference.

The Evod clearo will fit on any ego style battery...you don't have to stick with the Kanger evod battery. As long as the battery has 510 and ego threading it will be fine...and almost all ego batteries have these 2 threads. (The Halo Triton you mentioned at the start has 808/ego threading and would NOT work.)

This video might clear up things quite a bit. This guy makes great vids and this is a great one for starting out.

Thanks, that video was pretty helpful! (But I got kinda lost halfway at the laws/watts/resistance) :x

Thanks to everyone, I think my plan now is to buy an EVOD and a few hundred mL's of e Liquid, a 1100mah eGO-T Battery from Vaporvapes, and some Kanger Replacement Coils at 2.5 ohm. May I get opinions on this plan? Again, thank you everyone!

The only negative about the Halo Triton kit, as others have pointed out, is that it uses proprietary threading, which means it only uses Triton tanks and G6 cartomizers. Not a bad thing in itself for a beginning vapers. My Halo Triton Starter kit is still going strong @ around the year mark, and I was a heavy smoker and a heavy vaper. But they charge quickly, last longer than stated mAh and are durable. Never had any trouble with them, nor the Triton tanks.

Not all ego style batteries are the same. So I wish you luck with the Evod kit. I hope it lasts that vaper as long as mine is lasting.

I PIF'd it to a colleague who was in need of upgrading from a BLU last month and she's enjoying it. I wouldn't have PIF'd it to her if it wasn't still working like new.

aprilnights2 -- get decent elquid. Not Five Pawns or anything silly like expensive like that, but nothing terrible either. Only thing more certain to scare a new to vaping person away besides bad hardware is chemical/perfumy eliquid.

I appluad your effort, and wish you both the best.

To everyone, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the help! Please know that you are helping 2 people with your comments.
I will definitely go with the Kanger EVOD know!

basically, eJuice is made up of two bases "PG" & "VG"
PG is thinner and carries flavor & throat hit
VG is thicker and carries more vapor clouds
some have effects from PG (sore throat) being harsh
unless one is sensative to PG, a 50/50% blend is a good place to start...

the Kanger EVOD kit is a Complete kit and very compatable throughout the
world of vaping - it is a great starter kit because it is simple and dependable enuff
to allow a new Vapor'er to learn during the transformation...
THEN, it turns into a Great "backup kit" if/when the next step is taken
best of both worlds would be to ADD a VV (variable volts) battery to
enhance the said kit...

the fixed output (3.7v) of the evod battery works better with 1.8Ω - 2.2Ω coils

:)

this is a cartomizer (not clearomizer)
- Smok Tech 4.0 ohm 510 Cartomizers Single Coil
