A smoke-free workplace law is already in effect statewide,
but the new Benton County rule goes beyond indoor spaces
to cover all county-owned grounds, from public areas and
parking lots outside county buildings to parks, natural areas,
campgrounds and boat ramps.

And it goes beyond smoking to ban all types of tobacco use —
not just cigarettes, cigars and pipes but also chewing tobacco,
snuff and electronic cigarettes.

All of these county and college/university anti-tobacco policies were recommended by the FDA at a symposium held in Virgina last summer. No THR advocates were invited. It was a closed meeting.
