Actually I quit 11 days ago…My original plan was to slowly reduce my nic levels down to zero and then stop vaping totally….Unexpectedly…and rather uneventfully I might add…I ended up just quitting cold turkey….I smoked a pack and a half a day for almost 25 years before I started vaping last October …..I know for a fact….if I hadn’t found this forum…I never would have even tried ecigs…and would still be smoking….I liked vaping and thought about continuing to do so nicotine free…but in the long run I think I’m better off avoiding anything even remotely connected to my ex-nicotine habit…

I realize that becoming smoke free AND vape free isn’t a goal that everyone strives to reach..Lots of you have already achieved your long-term goals…and still participate here as active members….That’s a good thing…because folks like you are what make ECF the friendly and supportive place it is…I’m sure curiosity will have me stopping back once in awhile to see what’s new…..and I’ll continue to spread the word about vaping….and this site….to anyone that might be interested

It’s seems odd to say that total strangers played a major role in my truly life-changing experience..but lots of you did…and for that I will remain forever grateful….I wish all of you only the best…..

That is awesome! I have only been vaping for 66 days now and already have cut down on it and also went down on nic level. I don't know if I will ever give it up; it is too early too tell now. I can now go hours without vaping and when I do vape it isn't the hours long chain vaping as before. I agree that forums like this are wonderful! Lots of support and great people! Enjoy your life being smoke and nic free!

Congratulations.

I do think that E-cigs can be just a good of a cessation as gum or patches if one were to actually try and use it as such.

Cutting down on nicotine levels, vaping less frequently, etc.. are all plausible and viable techniques to get one off of nicotine all together.

You did what a lot of us e-smokers might of once originally planned (I know I did) but might of gotten lost in the world of e-liquid, kits, and mods. But that's ok though, I'd rather be doing this as a hobby than burning tobacco!

That's really great to hear. If you ever get in a situation where the urge for some tobacco gratification is overpowering like happens to so many ex smokers you can just reach for your e-cig and take care of it. Congrats for going through the whole process from beginning to end and coming out clean on the other side. My hat's off to you and good luck in the future.

Congratulations. I have only been vaping for about six or seven weeks and I have already gone up and then back down on my nic levels and I hope to continue going down. I don't plan to quit anytime soon, but I hope that someday I can. Either way I would rather vape than smoke. I kicked a 26 year habit and I am very happy about that right now.

Congrats!

I think another advantage PV's have over analogs is that if you decide to quit, you just put it away and store it in case you need it. With analogs there is a kind of commitment that goes along with buying a pack. There like potato chips, you have to smoke them until the pack is gone and by that time it's no big deal to buy another one.

That's great! That is definitely one of my goals with using a PV.

I always wanted to quit cigarettes, but never did because I just liked smoking. Now with my PV I am slowly weening off of it completely. It's so much easier because it doesn't make me feel like crap. I hated smoking a cigarette in the morning because every drag made me feel worse and worse.
