Lol, if I DO avoid any vendors it's not going to be because they didn't provide samples, (I'd pay DEARLY for the "right" juice!), it would be only because I didn't know what to buy, hence the free samples!

I think a lot of people are seriously misinterpreting the OP. How many times do I need to repeat and capitalize that "it's not like I EXPECT free samples" or anything, it's just really nice of a company to do that. And a lot of you guys jump all over my back for it? Things were so warm when I started out on ECF and I was just trying to share my experience and thoughts with you guys, if I knew that I was going to be misinterpreted and slammed all up and down the block I would and should have just kept my mouth shut.

I will be posting on ECF a lot less from here on out :(

I think it was a great topic. How important are samples in determining who you purchase e-liquid from. Even if you prefer samples over discounts. Probably good info for suppliers too.

When I was new to vaping, I really appreciated samples because I didn't yet have a clue what I'd like. And you hate to make a judgement about a supplier based on the one flavor you ordered. After you've been vaping for awhile and you know what you like, it's less important, but still nice all the same. That's when you appreciate suppliers that give a nice discount.

Unfortunately the defense came into play when specific vendors were named. If the topic had been in general, it would have been less volitale. When people finally find a juice company or juice that really works for them, a defense mechanism kicks in. I'm sorry it got out of hand a bit.

I think this is exactly it. Even though the OP wasn't meant as a big slam against the two vendors, if someone is critical of specific companies more people who like them get defensive. Not saying to keep opinions a secret, but if vendors are named be prepared to have a good defense of your opinion or have skin thick enough to handle some critisism yourself.

I thought the thread ended up being interesting, for me to see the different opinions on free samples. I'm suprised by the legs it had on a pretty small thing. I thought most people would be happy or indifferent to free samples but I guess some have strong opinions on it.

Edit: to the OP if it bothers you how people respond to your threads, next time might want to just post about the issue and not name vendor names.

I agree. SAMPLES BENEFIT THE VENDOR. Not the end user. If you get a 3mml sample of something and you love it, BANG! That vendor gets a 30ml order next week.

I have no idea why they don't send any, but I stick with Copper Creek and The Vapor Room, Ahlusions (on a $20+ order) who will always send you a sample if you request it with your order. :)

I've ordered large bottles of juice JUST because I liked a sample........it's a great intro to their line for vendors to include a sample, even to old customers who have not tried everything yet. I am on a limited income so it's hard for me to pull the trigger on 30ml if I hven't tried a juice!

Um, if you're new, how do you know the likability of the juice? :)

I also take excception to the idea that only so so vendors send samples. The best vendors IMHO are Copper Creek and Ahlusions ($20+ order), and they will send samples. Both are high end, both won awards. Not sure how that is subpar.

But like I said, smart business people figure out a way to get vapers introduced to the rest of their line, and it benefits the vendor, not the customer, to get the free samples anyway, cuz it often results in an order for that juice. :).

(Subpar to me is being "stingy". LOL)
I'll be honest and say that I have never reordered from a vendor on the power of the "free samples" that were provided.
They were a very nice surprise, for the most part, but they usually didn't rock my world. Just my experience. :)
Even back when HHV sometimes included a sample if you asked, (and were a good customer) they only seemed to quench my curiosity. Probably because I pretty much new what to buy in larger bottles.
Another example is Ahusion. I got 15ml samples and I was set!

Oh gosh no, don't post less. This is just "one of those topics".....really, we are all still friends here....every once in a while everyone likes to give their 2 cents on a topic that can get a little contentious.

Doesn't mean anything bad.

The entitlement has been discussed multiple times in the thread and OP has stated and restated his position several times. No need to get defensive because he mentions your favorite vendor in the title. All he is saying is that he appreciates response to his questions, and appreciates when vendors give free samples so he can see what he likes from that vendor. Some of you are making way too big of a deal out of this.

Really?I didn't get what I want for FREE thread?

BwB sold me 75ml of tobacco variety goodness for$40. That to me is a pretty good deal for quality liquid.

I'm sorry I don't get the entitlement.

And again it's shown how people respond when you name their favorite vendors.

Let me help detract things from the OP..

From what I've had, BWB has a couple of OK juices but for the most part their tobaccos are terrible. Boba's Bounty tastes like graham cracker. Pluid is nothing but a gimmick. Halo's tobaccos leave a smell like old socks. NLV makes desserts, not tobaccos. Virgin Vapor has the worst juices I've had.

Flame on :D

how dare you talk bad about virgin vapors?
lol jk, tastes are subjective :p

What? I've had two of their juices so I'm obviously an expert :D What I said was true though, they were a couple of my least enjoyed juices. Don't get me started on their "fugly" tobacco :p

Well. If you're going to call out a vendor in a public forum for something and complain, it shouldn't be surprising to you when people inform you how they feel about the validity of your complaint. If they sent you the wrong size, or sent you a short bottle, and they didn't deal with it, fine. But that is not the case here. As far as I can tell, there was no legitimate reason to start this thread with any sort of negative tone.
Sorry you got your feelings hurt.

I think that if a vendor has a comment/question box and is used by it's customers and they never receive a single response, is a very valid complaint. I also don't see anything wrong with discussing the value of free samples, as this isn't like an unheard of practice, in fact it's quite common among e-juice vendors. Outside of the people judging someone's character based on one forum post, the thread was actually quite interesting.

There is nothing wrong with discussing the value of freebies, dissing a vendor that doesn't provide them.......borderline.

Agree, borderline. I've personally dissed vendors for less, but prepared to take some slack for it.

Gourmet Vapor makes dog food look like gourmet.

I only vape unflavored and when ordered, they figure if they give me samples I'll switch to the more expensive store bought.

They give me Handfuls of the stuff- I must have gallons of flavors in my drawer.

What's this really green pluid stuff? Got a bunch of that too.
No vendor gives out free samples of Pluid. But if you want to send it my way, I'll be happy to take it off your hands. ;)
