Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum, but not new to vaping. I went to e cigs last June, and haven't had an analog since. I had no problem kicking the smoking habit with ecigs, but for some reason after the third month, found I had some cravings. It just goes to show, it's not just the nicotene that gets you hooked. Anyway, I managed to get over that hump, and am just fine now. Even during that period of a couple of weeks, I never considered going out and buying a pack of Marboros, despite the fact that my husband was/is still smoking. I was the heavier smoker of the two of us, but even though he's stocked with ecig paraphernalia, he's still slipping back to his smokes more often than not. Not me, though... yahoo!!

(BTW, noticed after I signed up, there's someone else on here named Mlinky... I hope not to cause any confusion with my similar name.)

Good for you, and kepp encouraging your husband. My husband took longer than me to truly convert. Now he comments on how much I vape!! He is not into the vaping like I am. He vapes when he feels a need for nic. I vape most all the time because I really enjoy it. In fact I have an order for 6 mg nic level liquid so I won't be getting as much nic.

Vape on!!

Hi Minkey, Thanks for the heads up about your third month cravings. I'm about 1/2 way there and it is always good to know about something ahead of time and get prepaired for it.

Welcome to the forums! And congrats on being 6 months quit -- that's really cool! What PV are you using? Finding any good flavors yet?

I love how easy quitting is with these things :) I feel bad for the folks trying to quit cold turkey!!!

Hope to see you around and can't wait to hear your stories!

I started with Green Smoke, which I gather isn't unusual. I've decided to switch however, because their service has gone down hill and I've had problems with batteries and getting carts. I've ordered a Safe Cig kit to try them out. I'm not into flavors, so that's not an issue. Maybe down the road I'll experiment, though.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes from everyone!

Safe Cig kit? Haven't you learned? If you are going to upgrade go with the Joye eG0 or Riva. If we are talking the Safe Cig kit that I just searched on. You will be paying way to much for a Joye 510 clone!

Safe Cig Kit? Haven't you learned anything from the forums? If we are talking the same thing, you are talking a Joye 510 clone that is overpriced! If you are upgrading try the Joye Riva of eGo!

I knew I'd have someone tell me that. This is all the wilderness to me, you know. I'm kinda like a June Cleaver housewife in the woods. ;) But truth be told, although I never want to waste money, price hasn't been an issue. I live in NY where a pack of cigs goes for $10. Next to that just about anything seems inexpensive.

I don't want to rock the boat, as I am so new, but may I respectfully make an observation? This forum is full of great information, fun contributors, and even some really inspiring stories, but it doesn't seem as if there's room here for people who just want to kick the cigarette habit and vape the pre-packaged product that's out there. Is there room for the unadventurous or just plain lazy here? Amongst the people I know, enjoying an e-cig is pretty out-there in itself, and I'm proud of myself for finding such an alternative and sticking with it. Truth be told, I was hesitant to post on here, for fear of being treated as a non-aficionado outsider because I don't drip or dip, per se. I don't think you'll ever find me buying juice or experimenting with the assembly of anything, but is that the entire point of this forum? I thought it was about the enjoyment and support of e-cigarettes. Am I wrong?

Minkey, I have found all of what you are asking for on this forum. Look around some more and if you don't find what you want start a new thread of your own. I'm sure there will be people that will answer you.

Tx, ECC. I'm working on him. He leaves every day with his two charged ecigs and his pack of Camels... Comes home with two still-charged ecigs and a lot fewer Camels. He's even braving the cold to smoke out on our back porch. We're going to London next week, and I'm hoping he takes the relaxing time away to finally quit. He almost did it on our last vacation- mostly because I was with him all the time. And boy, it sure is fulfilling to be able to vape to your heart's content in your hotel room! I've made sure he's all stocked up on supplies so he has no excuses, too!

First of all congratulations on your success!

Second - don't worry about "rocking the boat". I think what happens on this forum is that folks that have been at this for awhile get a little too over-zealous in their desire to be informative and helpful. Many here have tried all the "off-brand" kits out there and unfortunately found many to be sub-par. At first I felt like I wasn't "runnin with the big boys" either because I still use (and love) my little Yeti 510 with an atty and a basic battery. I don't have a huge desire to get longer-life batteries (I have a great PCC that keeps me going all day).

I say, if you're happy with what you've got and it's helping you quit smoking - then that's the product for you!

Also just a little note about your husband: He's a success story in my book too! It doesn't matter if someone never picks up an analog again, or only smokes half of what they did before. As long as they have found the way to cut back at all, that's a big step and worthy of "congratulations". Just my .02 cents there.

It could be the product that did it for you. I tried 4 different vendors (at great expense) and found the one that did it for me... my wife, a 25+ year smoker like myself, didn't 'get' it with the first 3 vendors - the product just didn't emulate the analog experience well enough to begin her transition. Then, my 4th vendor, bloogplanet.com - just came out with the latest KR808D-1 batts and totally revamped cartos - the morning after my first kit arrived, I couldn't find my Bloog. My wife stole it from me! Recommend you keep the jabs in on your hubby - certainly it's all about the product and the experience. Eventually, you'll find something he'll like...

Thanks for the encouragement, Jessara.
And I don't want to make it sound like I'm badgering my husband into total e-cig submission. I agree that he's still succeeding even if he cuts back on the smokes. It's just that he happens to be one of those people who has problems with self-discipline... One of those guys who needs a keeper. ;)
