I drove down to our Family Condo in Seaside Heights at the Jersey Shore this past Sunday. It is my first time here this summer. I am here for a week.

I have not been to the beach yet due to the rip currents from 'BILL'.
Anyway, tonight they were showing a movie on the beach so we walked down. About 15 feet from where you first walk on to the beach, there are large signs on poles reading - 'No Smoking Beyond this Point' . There are ashtrays attached to the poles. WTH - a designated smoking area on the beach????? I can't believe this.

Anyway, tomorrow I am going to spend the day at the beach and I hope to find out what the ruling is on Ecigs.:confused::confused:

I think that since the main reasons I've seen for no smoking on the beach is because of cig .... litter, there should be no problem with the PV. I can understand them making beaches no smoking because it ticked me off even when I smoked to find butts all around wherever I sat down. I took a empty soda can with me to put mine in and always ended up picking up many others and sticking them in there just to get them off the beach. I doubt anyone will even notice since beach areas are usually windy enough to blow any vapor away even faster than normal. If anyone asks tell them it's a nicotine inhaler that you're using to quit smoking and most likely you will get congratulated for quiting :).

just my 2 cents

Moonflame - you are right - I found it was due to the butts on the beach.
I also found out that the machine they use to clean the beach at night is not able to get the butts.

It is disgusting. When I used to smoke, I put all my butts out near the base of my umbrella. When leaving for the day, I picked them all up and brought them to a garbage can. Some people just don't care enough about the next person or the cleanliness of our beaches.

I did vape all day and it was a great day at the beach (for me).:cool:
Looking forward to another 3 days of vaping on the beach.

It was kind of funny to see people taking their pack of cigs and going to the back of the beach to smoke:rolleyes:

This year, they are giving you a warning. They say there will be fines next year - STRICTLY ENFORCED. 8-o8-o
