No Taste?

I just got an hcigar Kracken in a trade! Of course, I had to try it immediately. I built my first coil with the flat ribbon kanthal it came with. Wrapped it around the little screwdriver it came with and the resistance measure 1.3 ohms on my MVP. That's fine. I didn't have a blow torch, so I fired it a bunch of times. Glowed from the middle out, which I read was what I wanted a coil to do. Great! I threw some cotton through it and down into the hole in the deck, primed it with some juice, filled the tank through the other hole in the deck, and vaped. I get PLENTY of vaper, but no taste? Nada on taste. What could be happening here?

For additional info - It's completely brand new. I traded services with a local vendor who needed a meeting room space... Everything wrapped in plastic. I ran it under water of course. Could it still be machine oil? If so, how do I get rid of it?

burning too hot? A 1.3 ohm coil on an ego batt with a 4.1 voltage might be burning to hot. if your using a vv mod, they shut down at 1.3 ohms, maybe you just got rotten e liquid? good luck, but i woulldn't go down to 1.3 ohms without checking with the master of batteries - that would be baditude, ask baditude..........also its unsafe to subohm REALLY UNSAFE WITHOUT HAVING THE RIGHT BATTERIES, check it out with baditude

1.3 is possible on an MVP. I'm well above the minimum for one I think. Doesn't matter anyway. I just broke the glass trying to take it art for a more thorough cleaning.
