Halo sample pack really needs to steep. 1 month or even more. It changes drastically after that.

Been a little bit since I posted this, and yes you're right, steeping does very well with this stuff. Unfortunately PG levels are still way too high for me, but all in all, the Menthol Ice came to life, as did the Torque56, it is indeed tasty, I'll be keeping an eye open for a VG blend from them, perhaps I'd reorder if they did. vaping the Torque56 right now and it's really good with my favorite adult beverage of choice :p.

due to the excessive PG, I cannot handle it. Also, all of the flavors in my sample pack taste nearly the same......

This is the problem I have w/high PG. Unlike some people, I'm probably not allergic to it, it just does something very "numbing" to my tissues and so I cannot differentiate flavors at all.

Steeping won't help this problem with me. The most PG I can handle is probably around 25%. At that level, I can "taste" it but there are no other side effects.

Next, if the PG is about 50%, only my lips go numb a little bit.

But if it's really high, anything over 50% the numbness also hits my sinus cavities like a hammer, and I mean like a hammer. It's hard to describe, but everything inside my sinuses just goes completely numb instantly on the hit. Like that part of my face is "anesthesized" for a few seconds! It's a very unpleasant feeling. Even a little scary the first time it happened.

Very strange, huh?

I have to agree with the OP, when I first started vaping I purchased Halo's sample pack based on all the positive reviews they received on ECF , but I ended up hating most of the flavors. The only flavor I enjoyed right out of the bottle was Mystic (minty menthol) that came as a bonus, but not enough to go back to purchase the regular size bottles. The ejuices that contain their 'tobacco' base definitely needed steeping, but even so, I just wasn't a fan of the perfumy/chemically taste. I ended up dumping most of the Prime15 (nutty) in the sink, traded Tribeca (RY4) and Torque56 (herby) with another ECF member for Kringle's curse and HX3 (both light menthol, so added menthol drop and mixed with ejuice from another vender). Menthol Ice (mild menthol) and Malibu (pina colada) was just okay but also ended up in mixing with other flavors. Can't do much with Tiki (spicy) as the flavor is overpowering and the bottle is still sitting on my desk, I only vape it whenever my tastebud play tricks on me. Overall, it was a disappointed experience for me, but it made me realize why everybody keep on emphasizing that taste is subjective when they're being asked to recommend an ejuice. Well, it's most likely you'll run into flavors you don't enjoy more than those you do in the future, so remember to buy small sample bottles (3-5ml) from venders which let you choose your own selection. If you're into menthol, do yourself a favor and DIY menthol drop or purchase it from TFA, it'll help make some of the ejuices that you usually don't enjoy more vapable. Also, look around for vapor lounges in your area as they tend to sell ejuice and would let you try out the flavors. Good luck on your journey to find THE ejuice for that perfect vape. Happy vaping. :vapor:
How much menthol do I add to a 10ml bottle? I've got pure menthol drops. I've discovered that, just like cigarettes, I HAVE to have a menthol e liquid. Anything non menthol just makes me feel weird (non menthol analogs did the same) and I've got quite a few "regular" juices that I can not use because they have no menthol. Does adding the pure menthol change the flavor drastically, or just add a nice menthol kick? I've got some very reputable juices that many other people are addicted to and I just can't seem to use them because of the lack of menthol, so I've been contemplating whether to add menthol to all of my regular flavors.

If you're a menthol junkie like me, then having menthol drop or koolada is a MUST. You can purchase it premixed at TFA or OneStopDIYShop here and here. Both places dissolves methanol crystals using PG or PGA to attain a 10% concentration (i.e., 10g/100ml), but you can also make your own by purchasing methanol crystals on ebay or Amazon and dissolve it yourself. As for how much to add, a good rule of thumb is always start low and move up (I would start with 1 drop per 3ml if using 10% concentration). Menthol crystals/koolada are tasteless, it adds a TH kick and enhances the flavors. Based on my limited experience, menthol drops are best used when adding to minty, fruity, tobacco type flavor ejuices. Here's a thread on ECF on how to DIY menthol drops (you can find more using ECF search engine):

Good luck and happy vaping!!! :vapor:

PS For smaller quantities, I would purchase it from WL here. If you decide to go with WL, you might also want to consider picking up a bottle of EM (ethyl maltol) and marshmallow/caramel/vanilla flavor. EM adds sweetness (burnt sugar) and marshmallow/caramel/vanilla are often used to add depth or as a base for DIY eliquid.

Thank you very much for the response. I'm definitely a menthol junkie like you. I already have some pre mixed menthol drops I got from NLV. I'll have to contact them to ask about the purity. I'll have to try adding some menthol to my regular juices and see if it makes then more to my liking.

What did the PG do to your mouth? I've had problems with both VG and PG, but of late, my gums have been bothering me and I was wondering if it was the PG?

Seemed that prolonged use would weaken my gums. Would have sores like I bit myself. After using two brands that I thought were straight PG (Halo, and Bloog), I gave them up, and the problem went away.

Hi Dr.Phil, I totally agree, not kidding, I thought the first time I opened my bottle of tribeca that it went bad or something, then the taste was just intolerable, my friend thought it was perfume!!!!!!! I let it steep even, then not to waste it I poured another bottle of french vanilla just to see if I could get some value out of it, nope, disgusting.. My friend smoke their cafe mocha, and I did get used to that, but still has the base flavor of gross. Is that what the bad taste is the PG? I did not know that..
