No vaping? So why a vaping board? Glad you quit but we mostly offer vaping as a harm reduction alternative to smoking. I smoked for about 40 years. Vaped instead since Jan this year. Will likely keep on vapin.

Not picking on ya just not sure what we can offer you.

I smoked a pack per day for 35 years. I took up vaping as a safer alternative to smoking. It's worked for me wonderfully where the patch and gum failed miserably.

I'm no longer coughing up a lung every morning for two hours and my kids asking me if I am alright? I sleep better. I no longer have nasal congestion when I lay down to sleep. I'm saving money by vaping and not smoking. What's not to like? I had no intention of every not vaping.

I quit in January on a blister pack when I had a whim buying cartons of cigs. I've since lowered my nic level to 3 and less. I guess I could quit vape right now if I wanted to, but I don't. I'll pretty much always have a vape close for the next few years, even if I'm not using it. Honestly I can't yet see my end game for vape but congrats to you if thats what you want.

I honestly expect to vape as long as I can. I don't intend on quitting unless I absolutely must. I had the same attitude about dipping (which I used vaping to quit) as well, so we'll see how it goes lol, but I honestly just really like lots of things about vaping. Not only do I get my nicotine fill, but I get a hobby in coil building and studying up on upcoming mods and I get an icebreaker for meeting new friends and introducing a good alternative to tobacco. Win/win/win.

Congratulations on kicking the analogs @Paul Bolivia!!

Smoked and dipped for 27 years(sometimes simultaneously). I tried everything to quit, if they made it I'd try it. If your ex's grandmothers cousins son quit by doing something, I'd try it. Absolutely nothing worked. Eventually I'd break down because the substitute didn't satisfy one of my triggers. Oral, heat, fiddling, etc. Been smoke free for 4 years now.

I'm not sure what would happen if I stopped vaping. I probably wouldn't be able to if I still had up my vape setup, and if I got rid of it I'd probably start smoking again.

So I'm going to stick with the liquid nic.

Congrats!!! I was planning on that also. Why keep taking the meds after the illness is gone.

Go and be Free!!!
Two things, really. One, there are tons of illnesses where you continue taking medicine when there is no conceivable flare up. Two, vaping isn't purely smoking cessation for everyone. If someone wants to quit vaping as well, that's fine, but a lot of us (being humans) are creatures of habit. That means that we do things for the rhythm of doing them. Some people wake up every morning and cook breakfast to get their day started. Some people drink coffee. Some people use building models as a hobby. Some of us like the habit of vaping and enjoy the hobby of things associated with it. Some of us like to build coils, build mods, create DIY juices, and vape for the hobby of it. It's fun. There are a lot of reasons why I enjoy vaping.

For me, the illness never goes away. I quit smoking several times, sometimes it lasted for a few years. I never stopped craving it. Maybe it is the ritual or just wanting to inhale something.

I'll never quit vaping unless it becomes impossible for some reason.

R77: I appreciate you support and good luck. I had two years off a few times, but I just love
to smoke!!! I m getting into my 60s and just want to move on. I think it's cool that so
many people left the cigs for vaping. I will look for another forum. I don't want to be a jerk
to others here, just cause I,m through. Thanks!n

Well, to be honest you have to decide what you want to do. I used a stop smoking site for support when I quit nicotine through the patch system. It was tough, and I wasn't aware of all the variables. I enjoy the rituals of it all and to be honest, I don't see my lifestyle choice changing now I've found it. You could vape low nic for a while and wean off... or even no nic as has been said already, for the fixations.
