lets start this off with im very new to DIY

ego-c
im useing ejuice me up calculator
syringes
60mg nic
a bottle of pg
4 capella flavors and 1 lorann

when i baught my flavors premade i always baught 100%pg because i like the throat hit and it was a decent amount of vapor for me, tried VG and mixes of it but i didnt like the taste of muted flavors or modding my stuff so the thick juice could make into my atty

so my first batches were 4 3ml bottles of each capella flavor all at 24mg 10%flavor, ive tried each of them and i get little to Zero vapor from any of them, almost like they arent feeding properly through any of my atties

1.2ml 60mg nic pg
1.5ml pg
0.3ml flavor

am i missing something in the diy process other then mixing shakeing and waiting a week? or do i just NEED to add vg becasue my 100%pg vendors were lieing to me

What device are you using? Do you have other juice you could try, or only your own DIY?

ive been useing my normal butterrum premade for weeks and still am untill i figure this out its vapeing fine on my ego-c

At a quick glance the numbers look good for your mix. You mentioned lack of vapor. Are you getting flavor and/or TH? Or is it lacking there as well? Do you have something else to test your mix with? Carto, tank etc?

throat hit and flavor are also very lacking i can taste it and i get a bit of a throat hit

ive used the juices i made on 4 dif atties and 4 dif tanks on my ego-c useing 2 dif cone houseings and 2 dif batteries

i dont have anything else to use atm, my ego has been performing well and never saw a need to find a dif method of vapeing

The only other thing I can come up with is, either the 60mg PG base your using or your 0mg PG. I once contaminated a batch with water by accident and it produced what you described (poor vapor, flav, TH). But thats not to say your PG is watered down or that you had a mishap as I did.

Other liquids vape fine with your hardware... I would try a larger test sample. Maybe 5ml at 10-12% flavor just to make sure. If still the same result, I would then try a different supplier for the PG and nicotine.

Im sure other people will have some ideas and suggestions.

I use up to 80/20 PG/VG but I don't think that is the issue it sounds to me like a hardware issue . Did you use a new cartridge and not press in on hard enough to completly pierce the center of the cap ? I can't think of any thing based on your post to say why .

used new and cleaned even vaped a bit of premade from one of the atties, same thing happens with my diy and my premade vapes fine (post 4)

i didnt know that was possible but it seems to be the only explination, made a 10ml batch and it seems to be performing a bit better

how much water would it take to contaminate the pg or nic? is it possible to fix it?

Thats hard for me to say exactly. I botched up my mix and not my source. I had a 5ml bottle that I am going to guess had 8-12% water in it. Which diluted the resulting mix. I was half way thru mixing when I realized what had happened. But proceeded anyway thinking it would be alright, which turned out it wasnt.

I know you can have a certain amount of distilled water in a mix. But the amount I had was too much and unintended.

Another member on the forum suggested to leave the bottle open over night. The theory was, the water would evaporate some. So, I left it uncapped over night and it was slightly better (sampled 1ml). Left it another day and got better. By this time I had removed and used apprx 2ml of the 5. I added 1ml 24mg 50/50 with some flavoring and the remainder of the bottle was just fine.

I could not say for certain if the excess water did in fact evaporate or if it simply 'mixed' more with the PG/VG. My feeling is that after a couple days it blended and by adding more PG/VG with flavor, I diluted the water content back down to something more reasonable. Thats my take.

Good idea to do a 10ml batch. When you work with larger volume its easier to get more precise measurements. Also give a good shake with your nicotine base and flavor prior to use. I found with some flavors that settling & separation occurs.

First off Ill preface by saying I vape all VG sans flavoring... usually my mixes end up around 75-80%Vg.... and yes, I use an ego c every single day. Its my "out and about" PV. It was also my 1st real PV and in the beginning I had horrible issues with wicking... now... I have ZERO.

So, first thing first. You cannot "contaminate" juice with distilled water, or even ruin it. You can make it too thin but just as you can thin, you can add more base to make it thicker. Yes, its a waste, and yes its better to start over in most cases.

I have added up to 20% distilled water in some mixes with no issues. Vg will need quite a bit more than PG. The previous poster is correct tho. You need to add some VG to your mixes for vapor production. Some mixes will need more than others. Id say use as much vg as possible. but most people who prefer PG add at least 20%vg. 60pg/40vg, and 50/50 are also widely used.

If you want to try all VG for major vapor, then do 75-80%vg and the rest flavoring/dist water/ or any sweetener. You'll be fine with that on ego c attys as long as they are genuine joyetech attys. The knockoffs are horrible and require way to much tinkering and rewicking to get them to work right.
