“I have no idea if this is accurate or not. What I do know is I use an iPhone (my only Apple product) and I have NEVER had ..... At least not as big as the girl's in the picture. Well, not after the surgery anyway. But I did used to wear a skirt like that to my tennis tournaments and bend over the net all seductively so the umpire could see my -- what do they call the things you wear under a tennis skirt? Right -- my balls. HEY UMP, LIKE WHAT YOU SEE or do you Love-Love it? Tennis joke!” - Geekolgie

I am a GUY from L.A. not girl. lol
I fall into the "Whatever Works for you" catagory of smartphone user(HTC Tilt2, WinMobile 6.5). It's OK, could be better. But alot more software available than any other mobile OS. The new Windows Phone (WinMobile7) looks like it could put all but the 4g phones to shame. I'm sure they will go 4g as soon as there are more 4g repeaters around.

Sorry to disappoint, but WinPhone7 is probably the worst thing MS could have done at the moment. REMOVING features below the standards of what people expect from a smartphone is probably not the best thing to do (see "copy-paste" and "customization"). Leaving MS Exchange Security off the list of must-haves for Enterprise users is probably not the best way to ensure large corporate upgrades to your new OS.

If HP comes up with a WebOS device with a similar keyboard/screen layout as the TouchPro2/Tilt2, my next phone will be a Palm.

@Lowthudd:

xdandroid

this will save your tilt from the horrors of windows mobile.

I have it running on my htc fuze, will never go back to windows mobile.

It's android that is installed on a storage card. You start the phone and let windows load, than you open a program called "haret" which force closes windows, and loads android via a linux bootloader.

Android market is included, there are so many cool, free apps on there, my productivity at work has fallen by at LEAST 75% since ditching winmo (at least, my actual time spent working, I just cram my workload into smaller chunks of time now)

Awsome, I will give that a try. Very cool that you don't have to mess w/ the actual phone drive/ software. Very cool! I have been hoping an android 'upgrade' would occur, I think this idea is slightly better. Any idea what the final storage space used is? I have an 8 gig card filled to the brim w/ my music. I'll have to reformat it, because for some reason when I delete files from the card it doesn't get the space back. lol But I would like to know if I need a bigger card. Thanks!

it uses a few hundred megs. It's a little glitchy at times, at least with my htc fuze, but it beats the hell out of winmo

Yeah, my mother has one. It's a cell phone, nothing more ... fits her needs just fine. I fail to see the humor in the device.

Are you kidding me? The commercials are HILARIOUS... you have no sense of humor if you can't find anything funny whatsoever about the jitterbug. Every time a commercial has come on in the past everyone I've been around has died laughing, even my own mother, who is old enough to use one but doesn't need to because she keeps up with the rest of the world in the year 2010 ;)

That was pretty damned funny. Bought myself a present back in May, an HTC Incredible. I love it! I have nothing bad to say about the Android OS, but the hardware is a bit funky sometimes. The first batch of Incredibles (and perhaps they still have this problem) don't play well with a set of headphones plugged in. Seems like my phone was taken over by some Borg mind control techniques and just started doin it's own thing, .... dialing, skipping music tracks, launching apps I didn't tell it to, and so on.

Found it was a "known bug" and so I switched to a set of Bluetooth headphones. Very happy to be able to get my gmail at work, listen to Last.FM, check the weather forecast, and send messages to my crackberry-wielding sister (who uses no other technology except her crackberry).

Now if only my employer would figure out how to integrate Blotus Notes and other work-related networking stuff into something that would work for us Android weenies, I would be a happy camper.

I will give you the part about the commercial being funny. However, I will add that you are not being very fair laughing at someone who CHOOSES to keep it simple and use a Jitterbug. My boss' wife has trouble with the smaller keys on a "regular" cell, she hardly uses it, does not feel compelled to text, so it is perfect for her. She has even let her 6 and 8 year old grandsons use it when they will be away from the family and have the need to check in.

I understand why NCC was a little put off by your first comment Xanax, it did look to be a bit smug and judgmental.

I use an android phone, love it! I have everything I need in that little piece of technology, but many people I know find it too much technology to care about using :D

The commercials, maybe. The device is utilitarian. It's a mobile phone, pure and simple. No, I see nothing funny about a device which serves its purpose without bells and whistles. It would be a total waste of money for my mother (and lots of others) to get a smart phone, loaded with features she'd never use.

I don't use (never have) any kind of cell phone. I HAVE considered a iPod Touch or maybe an iPad, although the iPad is only marginally more portable than my netbook.

I do seem to have an aversion to devices which are spelled with a lower case i followed by an upper case some other letter though. The entire Apple cult puts me off.
